I would have to learn a bit more about your background to determine if you could be a competitive candidate at a higher ranked school. SMU Cox is a very good school, but strategy consulting firms are very particular on where their employees are educated and doubt that very few Cox students are hired every year from this program. Also, with your GMAT scores, I would have guessed that with a very good application that you would have been admitted to a higher ranked program where your career transition would be a bit easier. If strategy consulting is your career goal -- be honest with yourself and with Cox's ability to help you in this transition and then make the decision.
