60 cookies were to be equally distributed between X campers. When 8 Campers did not want the cookies, each of the other campers got 2 more cookies. Which of the following equation expresses this relation

1. X^2 -8X - 240
2. X ^2 + 8X -240
3. X ^2 - 8X + 240
4.X^2 +8X +240
5. X^2 - 4X - 120.

60/x = Y (cookies per person)

60/(x-8) = Y+2 we put 60/x instead of Y in second equation

60/(x-8) = (60/x) +2

after simplifications it comes up to

x^2 - 8x -240

Another A

60/(x-8) = 60/x + 2
0 = x^2 - 8x - 240
