Hi everyone...

I just scored 615 on GMAT focus V70/Q76/DI79

I have experience of 8 years in a DFI (6 years Direct Credit to SME and 2 years Venture capital) (i know its a bit late for MBA) and CGPA of 4.0(Engineering)(as per GMAT marking).

I am looking for admissions in colleges like LBS, Kellogg, Cambridge, Oxford and others in the same ranking for Sep 25 intake, for MBA, 1 year preferably.

I am also planning to take one more attempt in late November 24.

Can someone please suggest, are my marks enough to get into my target colleges or should I wait for my November 24 attempt. Also if someone can suggest some good consultants operating in Delhi/Mumbai.

Thanks.

Hi Anupam,

Your work experience is on the higher side, but nothing i would be concerned about - go ahead and apply in R2 this year.
As you rightly pointed, the GMAT score is low. You have a high CGPA (b-schools don't ask for conversions here, so it would help to know the original score and class rank- which is more indicative of your academic strength), but the GMAT still matters a lot, and I would feel more comfortable with you applying with a 665+ score.
However, starting your application work in November may be late, so get started on the application building alongside the GMAT prep. This is a tall task, but it will help to do both things simultaneously as UK based b-schools have excruciatingly long applications which take effort to complete.

Hello Anupam2024

While your GMAT is below average for the mentioned MBA programs, your CGPA will balance low test scores and make your profile competitive. Explain your achievements and challenges or projects during your term in DFI in essays to stand out.
Retaking the GMAT is a good choice: target a good GMAT of FE 655+, but applying with your current score might save you 6-8 months for an MBA. Even if you fail it will provide experience of what MBA admissions consider while giving an admit; being already late in applying.

Kindly share your remaining profile details like post-MBA goals, ECs, etc to evaluate your chances for the above-mentioned program or schedule a call to get end-to-end guidance for your MBA applications.
