Hi Everyone,
I'm in the midst of submitting Round 2 applications. I don't feel like my GMAT score accurately reflects my quantitative abilities and I am applying mostly to schools in the Top 5, some in Top 10.
Some background:
- 3.8 GPA from a Top 3 undergrad
- Pass with Honors from HBX CORe (HBS online course on Economics, Accounting, Business Analytics)
- Fairly unique industry and background
My current top GMAT score is 690 Overall, 45 Quant, 40 Verbal. I regularly score a 7 or 8 on the IR section but unfortunately scored a 5 on that exam. I have an 8 on a score that I cancelled but can release if it would do more good than harm. However, the Overall score is not very strong (mid 600s) and I worry showing I took the test 3 times rather than 2 would be a negative at some schools. I currently have 2 scores that have been released, the 690 from this year and a 660 from over a year ago.
To be competitive at a top 5 school would you suggest:
1) Re-taking the GMAT even after app submission to see if I can crack 700?
OR
2) Releasing the third score just to provide an additional data point related to quant skills (IR 8)?
Thanks!
