I am an Indian girl and planning to apply for Oxbridge and Hec. I do understand that the score in quant is not great but I have an undergraduate cgpa of 8.5 and work ex of 5 years. I am not fully confident about retaking and improving my score within two weeks. Oxbridge deadlines are a month away, should I apply R2 with the score or wait an year?

700 is a good score. You should consider based on the average GMAT of the school first. If your score is lower than that a lot, say 750 and 700? then you should consider to retake, if it's not, go apply R1.
remember, GMAT is just a factor of your application brief. Resume, essay, LOR, interview play significant roles as well.
Also, you can tell the school's admins about your intention to retake GMAT if they wonder about your GMAT score. Tell them, you're confident to gain more.

Hi I am also in the same boat as you are. But I decided to go ahead with another attempt of GMAT. Since, Indian pool of applicants take up a huge proportion of total applicant, the required GMAT scores goes up for the pool. However its more applicable for males ( because of more applicants) . So for your case I am not very sure.
