A slightly more prescriptive perspective here schsh1988.

If you look at many of those quant superstars, they have exactly the reverse problem than you do. Their verbal scores can/do sting. Schools look at both your overall score and the breakup therein. And no, they do not want all engineers/math wiz kids there - so your arts background would be a welcome change. Don't even think of another take! In addition to the GMAT, I think you've put in sufficient efforts already and now its time to focus on the applications!

Cheers,

schsh1988,

Understand that your application if going to evaluated relatively holistically.

At the end of the day - the 740 proves that you are a smart candidate. And that's a good thing.

The 740, however, is not going to offset the fact that you do have a weak spot in math, as reflected by your transcripts. The extra math course will help.

But let's get to the crux of the issue now: What have you been doing so far? What do you want to do? Why do you want an MBA? If you can get these answers to make sense, I think your 740 will be enough to answer questions that the adcom might have about adequate academic performance on quant courses.

Regards,
Karthik
