Thank you for getting back to me! The school I am really aiming for is University of Chicago- Booth. I probably will take the GMAT again. I'm also looking into Loyola and Northwestern as well. I feel like I am ok with Loyola, its just the other two. The reason for my probation was honestly a lot of things- death in the family, poor time management, intensity of the coursework (I was taking graduate courses as an undergrad), and I was also working part time to help pay for my tuition. After graduation, I worked at a startup company and now I work for a top health insurance company. I also volunteer my time by tutoring kids (although I get paid). I also volunteered with an organization for two years and this year, I'm now in a leadership role as a Community Manager. For my recommendation letters- one is a Booth alum who was a CTO and the other letter might be the volunteer organizer or a supervisor from the company I work at now. One of the things that makes my application unique is the fact that I have a Health Science degree and I ended up in an Analyst role. This shows that I am quick to learn, as I changed industries, and have good networking skills.
I would really like to focus on Booth. I've been looking at Booth's incoming class profile for 2018 and their GPA range is 2.6-4.0. Why am I considered low? Will the Booth alum recommendation letter help me? Booth also has a focus on the startup culture so will my startup experience help? With Booth, would I have a better chance with the Full Time program as compared to the Part time program? The Part time program has candidates with much higher GPAs and GMAT scores.
I really appreciate your help! Thank you!
