Thanks for the recap! Sounds like fun....too bad I couldn't attend. Can't wait to find out more about the KWEST trips...
I personally am interested in going to central / south america but I guess Mexico is out of the question now! One of my friends (who is an alumni) went to Panama...I want to go somewhere with a good mix of culture and party atmosphere...haha

So, I just wanted to give my recap of DAK II for all of you that weren't able to attend. It was an awesome weekend. I would definitely say Kellogg students know how to party...as I'm exhausted after drinking for 3 straight nights.
Ok, beginning on Thursday night. Several of us GMAT Clubbers got together for pizza Thursday night. It was great meeting Steel and all of the other admitted students. Everyone was super chill, and the pizza was awesome. One theme that resonated throughout the entire weekend was how outgoing, friendly, and fun everyone was. You really had to try hard not to make friends. After dinner we went over to Pete Miller's for drinks with our sections. It seems there are only about 4 bars in all of Evanston, and I've already been to half because after Pete Miller's we went to the infamous Keg. I personally loved the Keg - it's a dive bar with beer pong and flip cup. I mean what's not to love? So, we stayed there till 2am, which was a little later than I planned, but I made it up bright and early for the events of the next day.
Friday morning, we listened to Beth and Dean Jain speak. Dean Jain was a great speaker, but I did have a hard time understanding him. His accent is pretty thick. We had some section time also, where we met our section leaders and played the name game. Just call me Bodacious. Then we had lunch where we broke out by subject. I went to Finance, but there were many others for every major at Kellogg. Marketing, Strategy, Accounting, etc. After lunch we had mini-classes, which I skipped in favor of a nap. I did get up in time to come back for TG (Thank Goodness It's Friday = free beer) and the KWEST fair. There are some great trips out there, but I'm pretty sure I know the one that I want to go on. Now I just need to sign up in May when registration opens. After the KWEST fair, we went out to dinner with about 15-20 students and a couple of current students. My group headed to Merle's, which had some good BBQ - something I was thinking might be hard to find in Evanston, but evidently I was wrong. After dinner we all headed over to the Keg again to listen to a Kellogg band, play flip cup, and drink heavily - a recurring theme of the weekend. All in all a great night and great day.
Saturday was more of the same, maybe a little more career oriented, although I did skip a good portion of the day. Two straight nights of drinking past 2am was beginning to catch up to me. However, Saturday night was probably the most fun night of all. We all boarded school buses and headed down to Chicago for a reception at this gorgeous art gallery right on the river. Food was good, slide show was good, and people were fun. After that we all took school buses to a bar in Lincoln park called Stella. It was a lot of fun. Great vibe and good tequila. Of course about half of us closed down the bar and missed the buses back to Evanston. We had to cab it back to the hotel at 3am. Oops!
Well, basically all I can say was the weekend was fantastic. I met a ton of great people that I'm really looking forward to going to school with next year. It's going to be a blast. PM me if I can answer any questions for you. Looking forward to this fall!!!
