This is for both 1st and 2nd year students? Also, what is the approx cost for this trip (if there isn't a price yet, how much was last year's trip)? Thanks!

Here is all of the information you need: https://www.kellogg.northwestern.edu/student/club/ski/Index.htm
River, doesn't Wall Street trek interfere with ski trip this year? Or is that just a vicious rumor?

Thanks! I only saw a pre-registration cost ($250).

Ski trip prices range depending on how you do transportation and how much you plan on skiing (and if you rent). Its actually really reasonable since they manage to get such good deals. You have a lot of negotiating power when you are bringing 700 people during a slow time of the season.

Note, you guys can't sign up right now...pre-registration is only for current students.

To keep you guys in the loop with whats going on here. The destination for one of Kellogg's other major trips was just announced last night.

This year's ski trip will be at Vail, CO. December 12-18, 2009.
Drooling.

Question for current students:
A college buddy is getting married in India this February 18-20. That's a Thursday - Saturday, but I might plan on missing Thursday & Friday. I'm dying to go and would hate to miss it. Is it crazy to think that I might be able to do this? How would professors react? Should I be concerned about conflicts w/ recruiting? School is obviously #1 priority.

Professors wont care BUT that is during internship recruiting season. Looking at my schedule I had multiple interviews around that time...unless you only are doing consulting or banking and land an offer very early on there is a chance you will be doing on-campus 1st round stuff still at that point. There is also a chance you could have 2nd rounds about that time, I had one via phone and another in person around that time. Most interviews in person not in Chicago will have you fly typically on Fridays. Some companies have almost no flexibility in their schedules since they bring in students from all over the country at once. I know I had to turn down a R2 interview because I already had one that day (one I wanted more) and since the had no other date availables, I ended up not going any further.

Huge thanks for the feedback - this is a big help. It's unfortunate that the wedding date overlaps with the heart of recruiting season, but that's what I was afraid of. Looks like I'll have to plan on not going unless I'm successful in getting the offer of my choice earlier than this. Better to know now instead of later, after I've purchased an expensive plane ticket!

Yes, some treks overlap with Ski Trip so you will have to choose.

Choose ski trip - go on a T'Giving break trek instead :)

I did hear from a few students that they created their own Wall Street Trek right after ski trip so they could do both. That is always an idea as well.

Treks aren't out yet, we only submitted applications for them last week. Most should be similar to last year though...a few people want to change. Like I know that they are trying to push the Energy/Clean Tech one back until spring since the companies they visit dont recruit until extremely late in the year.
