How were you guys notified of financial aid? Does it come through email or snail mail?

DAK was great! Looking forward to the next 2 years.
I received my provisional financial aid offer. I also got a 1-on-1 financial aid consultation while at DAK. It was helpful to have them walk me through the whole process. They've been very responsive to me the whole time, emailing me when things were missing and responding quickly to emails.

I got the financial aid offer by email. It is provisional as of now and will be finalized in mid may once the cost estimates for 2010-11 are frozen.

For those of you that haven't received financial aid info yet. In your Financial Aid section (through the login where you applied)... are all of your "to do's" marked as "complete" ? (i.e. your FAFSA, copies of tax forms, etc). Mine all changed to that... and then about a week later, I got the provisional financial aid offer.

Also, check your spam folder if you have your Kellogg email forwarding to another email address. Heard of a couple of instances from last year of important emails ending up there.

I got financial aid about a week ago.
DAK was cool too.

Gosh darn though housing in Evanston is expensive. It's significantly more in downtown Evanston than it is in downtown Chicago.

i missed the housing tour so didn't get to check out the towers or mcmanus. just checked out some places on my own online afterwards.

what are you guys doing for housing?

Good thing about expensive housing in Evanston, when you graduate very few places will shock you with the expense of it. If you go to a lower cost area its awesome to realize you will be saving lots of money. Its expensive but still cheaper than NYC, Boston, San Fran etc. A lot of the places on the webboard are expensive since they are condo's owned by students who want to pay their mortgages.

What are everyone's thoughts on what KWEST trips to take? I'm finalizing my top 10 right now. I think my top 3 choices are Prague, Croatia, and Corsica, but after that, its blurring together.

Come into chat if you can, I'm talking through KWEST stuff with KBCalifornia this afternoon. I'm looking at Turkey, Greece, Argentina. Actually, I have 8 or so that I'd be really happy to get, so ordering them is the challenge!

I hope everyones KWEST preferences are in. At DAK, some class of 2011 types said that many of the trips filled up within the first 15 minutes. Did anyone sign up for the Mystery trip? Any guesses on where they might take you.

I signed up for Mystery because I heard the group ends up being really tight after. No clue where it might be, and trying not to think about it until I actually get assigned to it (I heard it's hard to get). Then I can get anxious once again after taking a brief break with my Kellogg admit :)

Any idea where they went on last year's mystery tips?

Going by the amount they are charging, looks like it will be somewhere outside the U.S. Places in and around the U.S are cheaper...

Last year's Mystery trip went to Malaysia, and the year before was New Zealand. And cost is no way to try and guess where this year's trip is. All the KWEST trips are required to charge within a certain range so that cost is less of a factor in choosing a trip (I think the range is like $1800-$2300). So even a trip to Mexico or the Carribean ends up costing about the same as a trip to Asia, with the tradeoff being the trips with cheaper airfare have more to spend on accomodations. I think last year the Puerto Rico trip stayed in the Ritz.

Good luck trying to guess where Mystery is headed this year, it's one of the most closely guarded secrets at Kellogg. It's definitely worth it though, the Mystery group is very close with each other.

I was told by KWEST exec when I tried to get info out of them that only 1 administrator and the Mystery team know where it is going to be.

Anyways, looking forward to it either way. I'd be really happy with any one of my top 5 or 6 trips and the ones at the bottom of my list, I'm sure I'd have a good time there as well.

When is everybody planning to move out to Evanston?
