Hi
umesh2302 ..
Welcome to Gmatclub. Unfortunately, the evaluation is true. The average age for Canadian MBA programs is near 28-30 and you are way too older. Coming from over represented pool of Indians will further decrease your chances. You must be having a strong professional profile but that alone is not going to help you get an admit. EMBA will not help you to change geographies but can help you for senior/top management roles in same company/industry.
Why don't you research more and look for other feasible options?
I can recommend you to check Express Entry PR option for you and your family. Once you are there, get settled with a job/entrepreneurship and do EMBA for networking/knowledge.
If you really want to try for MBA, then at least get 720 above and apply for 1 year MBA programs in Canada such as Queens/Ivey/Schulich. There is no harm in trying but take care that the chances are quite less.
Note: I am not an admission consultantumesh2302
Dear All
I am 39 years old , targeting top BSchools form Canada.
Replies from two admission cells after preliminary evaluation : both suggested that i am too old for full time MBA as average age is around 28-32 years. Further, according to them, even recruiters want to have students at around 28-32 years old . They are suggesting me to go for EMBA. To best of my knowledge EMBA make sense only if i am working there and also i have no clue how EMBAs are perceived in global markets
any help /suggestion on this will be welcome.
Background : Engineering ( Tier 1) + MBA ( Tier 1) with first class division ( both are feeder to MS and Global MBA , Dean of one of Top BSchool in US is from our B school ) + CFA + FRM
14 years experience in credit rating including 6 years from my own consultancy firm(entrepreneurship) with strong leadership positions, all of them in My country of origin ( India) . The global education has been my dream , however somehow i never got a chance to pursue the same . ( Had given GRE 328/340 (not valid any more)but did not had courage to pursue MS FE during global financial meltdown period) . i feel if i give my 100 % in GMAT .. score should be 720 +
My constrain / requirement :
Want to do MBA where the host country allows my spouse to work ( IT Engineer) and kids to settle in while i study. Canada - Toronto what i felt is best option , any more suggestions pls.
