Correct form - may finally be rising.
Trend in the Stock market is singular so have to use singular verb, hence it should be "has" instead of "have".

D) has shown investor confidence may finally be rising.
I got Answer D...

Could somebody please explain the subject of the verb may. from the given sentence it is clear that treand is the subject of the verb has. but I am unable to find the subject of the verb may in the correct answer.

Hi daboo343 ,

The subject of the verb "may" is confidence. It is saying confidence "may" be finally rising.

I hope that makes sense. :)
