Hey,
I applied for the R1 deadline, and got a reject too. More than deferals, I think the number of applicants has gone up and the class size is smaller. The combination of these two makes it more competitive. Having said that, a general trend I noticed was the high value placed on international work experience.
Personal opinion: R1 is the best time for Indians to apply to any school let alone INSEAD.
Hope this helps

Hi INSEAD applicants,
I am an Indian female candidate planning to apply in R2 for Jan'22 intake. My admissions consultant said all of her Indian clients got rejected in R1, most likely because of deferrals. I am now wondering if I should apply in R2 or wait till next year.
