ISB Admissions Round 1 vs Round 2

Should you apply to ISB MBA Round 1 or ISB Round 2? This is a perennial question that many ISB MBA applicants ask. We have earlier tried to answer this, but perhaps that response was not comprehensive enough. Here is our perspective on this now, which will help you make a more confident decision on ISB executive MBA Admissions Round 1 vs Round 2.
First, you should ensure that you are ready to apply – you should have a decent GMAT score, have identified your recommender, and have time to dedicate to working on your application. Next, assuming you do have them, Round 1 is better. Why? The class profile is yet to be shaped, and so more chances of unconventional profiles, or profiles with some weaknesses making it. Further, ISB gives out some scholarships only to Round 1 applicants..ISB Admissions Round 1 vs Round 2

ISB Reapplicant Chances – Can They Succeed the Second Time Round?

TRIPESH SAKHUJA
Working in the banking sector, Tripesh was a reapplicant to ISB in 2015. He had a work experience of two years at The Smart Cube as an analyst and two years at American Express, as a manager, before he decided to pursue management education.
After not being able to make it to ISB once, Tripesh spent time understanding the factors on which he could improve further. He volunteered for and was selected for a prestigious assignment. He sought feedback from ISB, and worked with GyanOne to interpret it and ensure that his next application reflected his considerable strengths. He improved his GMAT score in his retake and submitted a strong application to ISB in R1, though right towards the fag end. Tripesh is finally now studying at ISB and is enjoying every bit of it..ISB Reapplicant Chances

Arpit Bhatnagar
A thorough professional, a meticulous applicant, an organized individual, all these are qualities have made our experience working with Arpit, certainly one of the best among most of our clients. This Chartered Accountant by qualification, approached GyanOne, through a reference, who was a successful ISB admit. With solid experience in Audit and Corporate Finance firms like KPMG, PWC and ITC, Arpit had a good profile to showcase the CEIBS adcom. But, here again, his GMAT score of 660, was something that made him apprehensive of his candidature to this top business school in China. Rajesh Behera: A cricketer at heart, an IITian by education, and a Project Manager by profession, Rajesh had his eyes set on the IMD MBA for quite some time, before he decided to give it his best shot. Rajesh started preparing for GMAT…….and scored a 720 on it. However, then came the next big task – The IMD application and the ‘more than an interview’ assessment day processes.Rajesh had more than 6 years of international experience in the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions. With projects spanning operations and project management in the oil & gas industry, he submitted a thought through application for admission into the IMD MBA. Then followed 5 weeks of (excruciating) wait, before he got the much-awaited invite for the IMD MBA Assessment Day. The IMD Assessment day is a one-of-its-kind experience for any candidate, which includes a personal interview, a 5 minute presentation, a role play, a case discussion, and a live class. Rajesh prepared hard for one month for the IMD Assessment Day. GyanOne helped him hone his interviewing skills, think through his strategy for the 5-minute presentation, and gain a strong grasp in general on case discussions and what they involve..IMD MBA, MBA in Europe, MBA Success Stories

IIMC PGPex: IIM Calcutta Class Profile, Fees: GyanOne Success

Sanjukta Sen
Sanjukta was on cloud nine when ISB Hyderabad Admission results were announced. She had secured an admit from both ISB and IIMC. It was one of the toughest choice she had to make. Sanjukta finally decided to go to IIMC and join the PGPEX program. Having worked in Infosys and Ericsson in an IT profile (that many would call ‘typical’), Sanjukta was initially worried about her chances at these schools. With thoughts that cross every applicant’s mind at this stage, “Should I retake the GMAT?’, Sanjukta did thorough research to strengthen all other aspects of her application. She ultimately decided not to retake the GMAT and focused on creating a strong application with GyanOne for both ISB and IIMC. Sanjukta is an outstanding professional and has worked on some cutting-edge applications of business technology. Her examples and initiative, and GyanOne’s guidance, helped her to build a strong profile. Sanjukta finally made it to both ISB and IIMC in Round 1 results. Had she applied to some of the other options in India available to her, she might well have made it there too. IIMC was Sanjukta’s top choice, and will now be her alma mater..IIMC PGPex: IIM Calcutta Class Profile, Fees: GyanOne Success

How to get 770 on GMAT

Scoring a 770 on GMAT (99 percentile) is rare enough, but doing it in one’s first attempt on this challenging test is rarer still. What does it take to get this outstanding score, and how should one optimize one’s preparation strategy to overcome constraints and suit one’s strengths? This is the story of Vatsal Gupta, and of his 770 on GMAT.Before one can start dreaming of a great GMAT score, one needs to be able to plan for it. Unfortunately, most test takers plan for a test wishfully, and execute fitfully.
In other words, everyone wants a great score, but not everyone puts in the effort and structure into preparation that is required to achieve it. This structure is not just about what to study, but about how to study it. Here are the key strategies that Vatsal followed: To begin with, Vatsal took a mock test to identify his natural strengths as well as areas that did not align with his capabilities immediately..How to get 770 on GMAT
