Ivey MBA Interview Questions

The Ivey MBA Interview Questions / MBA Interview Experience
The Ivey MBA interview is typically 30-45 minutes in duration and is conversational in nature. The interviewer can be either from the Ivey MBA Admission Committee or an Ivey Alumnus working for a top consulting firm. Mentioned below is the list of questions generally asked to applicants from consulting background, during the Richard Ivey interview process. Ivey MBA interviews are as much a part of the process as the application and the essays. Do not make the mistake of thinking of them as just a formality. They are an integral part of the overall evaluation and in fact a critical part of it..Ivey MBA Interview Questions

IIMC PGPEX Placements : Key Trends

IIM Calcutta or IIMC PGPEX placements are a key area of interest for many potential (and even current) students interested in looking at prospects after the program. The program itself is small – only 50 people in terms of batch size – so the opportunity to attract firms with widely varying roles and offers is anyway limited. In this brief article, we take a look at PGPEX IIMC placements and key trends over the last 2-3 years. These are recruiters who are recruiting for specific, niche positions rather than picking up a bunch of talented B-school graduates to hone them into future managers.
Looking at the placement statistics, we can see this to be true right away. In 2014, 48 firms made only 47 offers to PGPEX students. In 2013, 53 firms had made 56 offers, and in 2012, 51 firms had made 49 offers..IIMC PGPEX Placements : Key Trends

MBA Application Mistakes – 5 of the Worst Things to Avoid

Some of the worst mistakes are unintentional ones. More so when one speaks of MBA Application mistakes. For sure, everyone wants to seem the best that they can on each MBA application. However, in trying to improve things, a lack of understanding can sometimes lead to worsening them. In our effort to help MBA applicants understand the applications landscape better, we present here a list of commonly made MBA application mistakes. This list is certainly not exhaustive, but these are some very common mistakes nevertheless, and also things that we regularly advise our clients against doing. The mistakes listed here are not in any order of importance – each is equally important to understand and avoid..MBA Application Mistakes

Quit Job for GMAT : Why You Shouldn’t

Akshay Singh has five years of good professional experience behind him, and is doing well in his current job. Like many others in his position, Akshay feels that this is the right time for him to pursue an MBA, which will help him not only gain more skills but also seek wider positions within his industry. However, before he can apply to top MBA programs, Akshay needs a GMAT score. Preparing for the GMAT per se is not a problem, but Akshay has little time for the preparation. He often returns home from work well past 9pm, and has little energy left to study then. In the morning, he must leave home again at 8am. Weekends afford some time for studying, but work often spills over to at least a few hours even on weekends, and of course there are family commitments and domestic chores to take off. After accounting for all this, Akshay has very little time left over to devote to studies. He is therefore thinking to quit job for GMAT..1 on 1 GMAT, Beat-the-GMAT

MBA Scholarships at International MBA Programs

Almost every student (certainly most international students) applying for an international MBA program hopes to get MBA Scholarships in one form or the other. Yet, the criteria and the overall parameters used for awarding these scholarships remain less transparent than overall admissions criteria. Schools claim to offer scholarships to the most ‘meritorious’ of students without specifying exactly which factors go into constituting this merit. Sure, GPA and GMAT count, but not everyone with a high GMAT score or a great GPA gets a scholarship. How can people at the pre-application stage then try and maximize their chances for getting a scholarship? GyanOne offers a brief guide to the best practices..MBA Scholarships at International MBA Programs

ISB FPM Interview Preparation Tips

The ISB FPM interview is used by ISB to evaluate some candidates and understand their profiles better before taking the final decision on acceptance/rejection. Note the keyword here – ‘some’. As ISB explains in its FPM FAQ, not all applicants are called for interviews. In fact, being invited to interview, as ISB claims, is not an indicator of greater interest in your profile. This may be true, but getting invited to an interview certainly means that ISB did not find your profile unworthy enough to be rejected without an interview itself. An interview therefore certainly means an expression of interest in understanding more about you. Make the most of this opportunity and try to excel at this chance of a personal interaction..ISB FPM Interview Preparation Tips

MBA in Canada: Top MBA Programs

An MBA in Canada is not something that has always been on the radar of top applicants looking for excellent MBA programs. Most applicants invariably consider excellent programs in Europe and the US, but not always in Canada. This is now starting to change. With the climbing reputation of schools such as Richard Ivey and Rotman (among others), a lot many more students are evaluating opportunities in Canada. The friendly immigration environment, the stable economy, and the excellence of Canadian MBA programs are all contributing to the allure of the MBA in Canada..MBA in Canada: Top MBA Programs

Best MBA in Singapore: Which MBA Programs to Choose

Which is the Best MBA in Singapore? Is it the prestigious INSEAD, the much-vaulted NUS, its perceived lesser cousin Nanyang (or NTU, as some refer to it), or the fast emerging SMU? For MBA applicants who would like to explore the potential of Asia, there are few programs that have the pan-Asian appeal of MBA programs in Singapore.
The city itself is known as Asia’s hub for business, and almost every multi-national business organization that operates in Asia has an office (and in most cases, its regional HQ) in Singapore.
Whether it is financial services, energy, FMCG, or consulting, you will find top employers from each sector based in Singapore. No wonder, then, that MBA aspirants look to the city, and its MBA programs, with much interest..MBA Admission Consultants India

MBA for Merchant Navy Professionals

The Merchant Navy can be a great profession to be in. Not only does one travel to different parts of the world, visiting cities that would not be humanly possible for non-Merchant Navy people to visit in a lifetime, but one also gains handy professionals skills such as leadership and people management that may take much longer to imbibe in corporate roles. However, life in the Merchant Navy can also be challenging after a few years spent in the profession. Long months away at sea, the repetitive nature of the job, and lack of career progress beyond a point can lead many Merchant Navy officers to consider a career beyond the Merchant Navy. While on-shore jobs in the Merchant Navy itself as well as associated shipping positions are alternatives, some choose to look at the MBA for career growth as well as change. This can be a great option to consider, and one that is increasingly aware of the unique needs of Merchant Navy professionals..MBA Admission Consultants India

Analytics MBA Programs and Opportunities

The Analytics MBA may not yet be part of the common lexicon yet (like the Marketing MBA, Finance MBA, or Entrepreneurship MBA is), but Analytics is an area that is giving birth to a whole range of new opportunities for business graduates. In 2012, Harvard Business Review published an article asserting that the job of Data Scientist would be the ‘sexiest job’ of the 21st century. That apart, Analytics is an area that is equally interesting for business professionals, mathematics majors, and information technology majors alike. If you love mathematics, statistics, and interpreting data, this is a field you are going to love. Not just because of the analytical acumen that it involves, but also because the insights that you glean are impossible to derive any other way, and can often get to the root cause of pressing business problems quickly..Analytics MBA Programs and Opportunities
