Why is the thread so dead?

Anyone has sent in an update already? Anyone knows whether Booth does a rolling screening of the applications in the WL?

No news yet. Just praying and praying I can get into Booth, my dream school.

Yeah, any info on how WL works would be welcomed on this thread!

Check your WL notification. Last year, the correspondence was pretty specific that R1 WL applications would be considered and notified with R2 applications.

Hey,

Has anyone tried calling the Admissions Office to try and get feedback? The video seems to suggest that has worked despite Booth saying they can't provide feedback. Just wanted to see if anyone has had success through this method.

I'm not sure if that is a wise idea. In the FAQ, they specifically mention that they wont entertain feedback requests. I haven't seen the video yet, but there is a possibility that their policies have changed over the years. (I'm assuming you saw something that was Booth specific and not a generic advice. If it was generic, I think that particular school's FAQs override everything else.)

Hey guys,

Just posting cause of the nearing deadline to send materials in. Man, I hope this isn't the end of the line with Booth. So much work for this application. If anyone wants to spitball ideas, I'm game. Check out EssaySnark if you haven't too, they've been super helpful for me :)

I'm surprised there haven't been any posts here. Did everyone just read the previous threads? Did people submit videos?

I read previous threads and spoke to alumni and current students mainly. I ended up doing the video - nothing fancy, just me talking for 90 seconds about why I'd be a great fit at Booth. In addition, I wrote an essay further outlining that point and got someone at work to write a letter of support for me. Hope it works out!

I'm sure it'll be pretty active the day before and of interview invites and then once some of us are kept on the waitlist.... man, I get palpitations just writing that.

Anyone know if we can see how many WL people eventually were accepted (Just from gmatclub the last year or two, I know there aren't real numbers out there)

And why is this thread so dead. Other Booth Waitlist threads were pretty active...

The list says 14 (R1-6, R2 - 7, R3 - 1), but I remember a few names from the thread that don't show up there. So, you may add a buffer of 3-5 people to that. However, if you look at R1 applicants this year, you will notice a steep rise in that number YoY. Not sure how that will affect the this year's conversion rates. Finally, I have a hearsay number for you : 15-20% of the class was on the WL at some point or the other. Don't quote me on that. It may be wrong. Just something that I remember from thousands of conversations/articles.

I have also read/heard the 20% of the total class number. That being said, I was told that the R1 admits were very strong this year which led to more waitlisted candidates than normal.

I don't have the data (sinful, I know), but 15-20% seems reasonable based on my (purely anecdotal) experience.
