Businessweek just released their 2016 MBA rankings (about time)



  • Duke is #3! That's a huge jump!
  • Kellogg is #9
  • Rice (Jones) is #8? Really? How many know what state Rice MBA is even located?
  • Haas is 10

With Rice suddenly jumping 20 spots to #8, is this another illustration that rankings should be thrown out since the last debacle with US news that had ranked NYC Stern as #20 due to a data submission error.... Rice was not even in the top 30 in 2012.

I wholeheartedly agree with you, BB. Every time a new set of rankings is released, there's something ridiculous in there. And yet... we just keep obsessing over them. School rankings are the only reason that US News & World Reports still exists at all.

Just received an email from Case Western University Management (#74 in the list).
- waived app fee
- priority admin decision
- automatically considered for merit-based scholarship

not bad..will research more about this university :)

p.s. I am surprised to see Berkeley #10 only, and Cornell #16!

p.p.s. - remembered the character from "the office" Andy Bernard - Cornell Alumini :D
