I have not officially decided to apply but one of my fellow managers went to Michigan and has almost convinced me to apply. From everything I have read they have pretty decent placement in IB. Not sure how good they are for real estate IB though. 710 GMAT 3.6 GPA blah, blah, blah...we are all great in our own ways. Of all the schools I applied to, Ross was particularly cruel with some insensitive emails. Their emails on Thursday about surveys etc(this when most candidates were waiting for the Thursday interview wave) were especially sadistic. There are other schools like HBS who are annoying in other ways.

I think there is some correlation between the frequency/type of admissions emails and the school culture.

Ross - Too many emails, too recruity in nature - resulting in very strong friendly student body.
Chicago - Not too many emails(just the right amount), and also VERY transparent about the process - Not surprising that its doing very well in the ranking.
HBS - Absolutely no emails, reeks of excusivity - results in an arguably snobbish student body.

just checked out Ross's interview scheduling site and they only have slots listed up to feb1. Unless the site only lists open slots for current week, i believe that there are some interview invites right around the corner.

pandeyrav, interview slots were constantly added to that site in R1. I don't think this is the end of interviews especially with D-Day more than a month away.

true. i was pointing to the fact that there are no slots after feb 1. so if they open a bunch of slots for next week, they must also send out invites today or tomorrow giving people 4-5 days to schedule their interview. my guess is we should see some more invites pretty soon.

Soojin Kwon Koh from Ross participated in a waitlist chat on accepted.com. I learnt nothing new except that they will be reviewing waitlist applicants along with R2 ones & interview/admit/deny/waitlist them. This is the gist of the chat:

Don't rewrite essays or submit additional essay now.
Send updates only if it involves significant accomplishments, change in responsibilities, awards etc.
GMAT scores below average - retaking would help. Above Ross average but below demo profile average score - we can't tell you.
Student/alumni reco letter may or may not help. If GMAT or your work exp are issue, reco letter won't help.
No ranking of candidates. We re-evaluate applicants at each step of process i.e. R2, R3.
Reconsider every aspect of profile - work ex, major, performance, goals, geography, essays.
No difference between waitlist before interview and waitlist after interview.
Will touch base with R1 waitlist on Mar 15.
No need to visit campus again. Cannot arrange to meet with admissions staff member.

Things NOT to do
Emailing constantly with no substantial updates
Insisting on coming to campus to meet with admission staff
Submitting reco letters which don't add helpful information

I wouldn't worry about the application complete mail, which is one mass, generic e-mail sent out to all applicants with complete applications. I got my interview invite before the application complete e-mail while some got the invite after. If your application is not complete, they will let you know what is missing and give you time to submit. Good luck, guys!

I got the app complete email on the 17th. But as Clobo mentioned, I don't think there is a correlation as my cousin (like a couple of the others on this forum) got an interview email a couple weeks ago, but just got the app complete email last week.
