I am a 2010 applicant and hoping to visit a few select schools this coming Fall. My question is when is the ideal time to viisit a campus and get a feel of the school? I understand that the answer to this question varies on the school, but a general guideline would be helpful.
I want to visit early enough so I can digest my experience and also to incorporate it in my essays, but I don't want to go too early where schools wouldn't be fully in session. I was thinking late Sept/early Oct. Any thoughts? Thanks.

One reason I heard schools are starting to accept the GRE is cost and availability. The GMAT is incredibly expensive and in some areas there are few testing areas. The GRE costs like half as much and there are more testing centers overseas. So this especially benefits internationals where $250 is a big cost and they need to take a few days to go to a testing center.
