I got a few responses asking about how I was accepted from off of the waitlist last year. I am a poor example because I just sent one three-paragraph email the night before the additional materials were due. It worked for me, but I would advise sending emails and letters of support from anyone you know in the program once every three or four weeks--that seems to be the ideal number of points of contact from the various "waitlist" strategy posts.
My acceptance could illustrate that they use the waitlist as a way to "round out" the class for a specific profile as they accept the stars from the next round. I might not have been accepted if I were competing against other pilots who had been sending lots of letters in. They were just shy on pilots for R2 last year, I guess.
Good luck and I hope to see all of you here this September! I'm applying to become a LEAD facil, so I just may be your first teacher....
