I didn't get an confirmation email either. I got an email when my references submitted their letters. I have a green check mark besides GMAT score, transcripts and 2 references.

No confirmation e-mail here either. Although I think I read a post by scorpionz somewhere on this thread which said that this year no one seems to have got a confirmation e-mail.

I got the confirmation email but where did it say Jan 25th? I see only this line for round 2- "Round 2 Jan 4 – Feb 15 [highlight]Feb 25[/highlight] Feb. 15 Feb. 15 - Mar. 21 Mar. 21". Am I missing something?? Do you think the Feb 25th in there is typo and actually meant Jan25th?

Thank you for submitting your Chicago Booth Full-Time MBA application. In keeping with our commitment to transparency in the admissions process, this email explains what will happen with your application throughout the application life cycle.

There are two different phases of the process in each round, and below lists the dates that correspond with each.

Phase One First Date of Invitations to Interview Released Mid-Decision Phase Two Final Decision

Phase One

Invite to Interview - The Admissions Committee will begin to release interview invitations during Phase One and will continue this process through the mid-decision date. Look for an email that asks you to check your status via the online application system. If you are invited to interview, the Admissions Committee believes an interview will help us further evaluate your admission credentials.

Mid Decision

All applicants will receive an invitation to interview, or will be denied without an interview on the mid-decision date.

Phase Two

As soon as you have been invited to interview, you will need to schedule and complete your Admissions interview. After your interview is completed, the Committee will again read your application along with your interview feedback in order to make a final decision.

Final Decision

On the final decision date, we will release your final decision at 9:00 am. You may view your status via the online application system.

Yes, my assumption was that Feb. 25 was a typo since it's listed under the first date of interview invitations yet it's AFTER the Feb. 15 mid-decision date. I don't know why I received the confirmation and others did not. Before any conspiracy theories start, I am 100% positive that it is random and meaningless.

Heeeeelp! So all of my application is checked now, even the GMAT score. BUT the TOEFL is still unchecked. Unlike the offical gmat, it takes about 20 days for the official TOEFL to be sent to the school.

Will they still review my application with the self-reported TOEFL score and wait for the official TOEFL?

Or will my app not be reviewed for round 2?

Most schools I applied for rd 1 were chill about official scores arriving late and started reviewing with the self-reported scores.

edit: just got the answer to my own question: It can take time to process materials. We appreciate your patience and ask that you wait four (4) weeks following the application deadline for materials that were sent separately, such as test scores (GMAT, TOEFL, etc.), transcripts, and recommendations, to appear as having been received. We will contact you if we have not received your materials by that time.

I still have a red mark next to the GMAT score. Should I contact the admissions office? Or wait for 4 weeks since submission - so around Feb 1st?

No, I don't think so. I am pretty sure that they are swarmed with the rd2 applications and will definitely contact you in case something is missing. Ur self-reported score should suffice, at least for the initial read.

U will not be at a disadvantage and that is for sure! My advice would be to start prepping for the interview.

For R1 interview invites appeared to extend over several weeks. That's why I'm assuming invites are going out Jan. 25-Feb. 15 (approx: 3 weeks) vs. Feb. 5 - Feb. 15 (10 days). Regardless, right now we're in a dead zone and shouldn't expect to hear anything unless the school deems an app incomplete.

R1 interview invites went out over only one week this year, but I think they get about 2x the applications in R2, so it would make sense that the invites would take longer. February 5 is a Sunday (Super Bowl Sunday).

Anyone tried to contact admissions to ask if it is normal not having received the confirmation email of application submission? Although most of us are in the same boat, I still think it is not normal...

Thanks for the clarification. I must've been confusing Booth with another school (in regard to time frame of interview invites). If I get an interview invite on Super Bowl Sunday and my Giants just happen to win the game...that might could just be the happiest day of my life! G-Men!

To add to the interview invite speculation theories here :)

Round 1 interview invites started coming on Nov 2, which is a Wednesday and which is the actual date in the confirmation email. Now Jan 25th also happens to be a Wednesday, which I think makes Jan 25th a plausible correction for the typo. Also, Round 3 has 2 weeks of possible interview invite period (April 11th-25th). So think it's quite reasonable to assume that Round 2 will have 3 weeks.

On a side note, Booth seems to have a thing for Wednesdays. First off, the application deadlines for all 3 Rounds are on Wednesdays. Same for Interview invite start dates, mid-decision dates and final decision dates in all Rounds!

I was a R1 applicant and all I received after submitting my application was an email saying that the school had received my application payment. It does seem a little unusual, but as long as your application status on the website says "Submitted", you should be good to go.

Now Jan 25th also happens to be a Wednesday, which I think makes Jan 25th a plausible correction for the typo. Also, Round 3 has 2 weeks of possible interview invite period (April 11th-25th). So think it's quite reasonable to assume that Round 2 will have 3 weeks.

On a side note, Booth seems to have a thing for Wednesdays. First off, the application deadlines for all 3 Rounds are on Wednesdays. Same for Interview invite start dates, mid-decision dates and final decision dates in all Rounds!

It's note just Booth. When I applied to the undergraduate college in 2002, one of the essays was "How do you feel about Wednesdays?" One of those truly out of the box essay questions to test people's creativity.

I tend to agree with your analysis. Waiting until January 25 certainly is more appealing than waiting until February 15.

Hope someone can give me some advice on this issue.

My 2011 bonus was not announced until January 15th, two weeks after the deadline for applying. I submitted 0 for my 2011 bonus, but I also addressed this issue in the optional essay, stating the range in which I thought my bonus would be. It's actually a bit higher than I thought it would be. Will Booth allow me to submit this updated information now, and would it be a good idea to update it if I could? My salary is definitely in the low range of Booth applicants because I work in emerging markets, so adding this bonus in will definitely bring me up much closer to the average (see my post in the "How much $ do you make?" thread). Appreciate any ideas.
