I have been a silent observer for a little while and have seen the board go a little quiet. I wanted to let people know that I just received an interview invite last week and interviewed this week so keep hopes up! I applied on 1/10.

Now just anxiously awaiting for my status to go complete. Can anyone tell me when my status should change after the interview? Also, I wish everyone the best of luck and I hope to be lucky enough to join all who have already been accepted in this years class!

Congrats on the interview. I interviewed on the 21st of February and didn't go complete until the 5th of March (still waiting to hear back). I've maintained contact with my interviewer since my interview. He mentioned that my interview report was submitted the day of the interview.

Is there anyone who applied on 1/4 and has not heard anything yet? Meaning no interview invite or ding? I guess I should be happy i haven't got dinged yet but all these other interview invites going out makes me worried. Should I reach out to adcoms to see why it's taking so long?

How do you stay in "contact" with your interviewer? I feel if I reach out it may look needy etc. and don't want any negative connotation. Do you just continue with follow-up questions and politely ask if they have submitted lol?

Depends on how the interview went. My interview went really well and we established a bit of a personal connection, helps that he was from the same town as me, both wife+kids etc. So in my thank you email I just threw in a light hint of extra feeler comments, he replies, I reply, etc. Fairly standard common courtesy type stuff only I just kept myself short, to the point, and overly polite since Im still the interviewee and he's the gatekeeper.

CBS is nice in that way in that if you do get in you have effectively already begun a personal relationship with the (pretty broad, powerful) alumni network.

You'll get an email saying your application status has changed. Then you can logon and see that you are "complete".

You'll get an email saying that your status has changed and your portal will read: "Submission Status: Submitted; Submitted Date: ....; The Admissions Committee has received your interview report. The interview process is complete."

Exactly. I actually called adcom and they said that they'd received it and that if the online status hadn't changed by a certain date (which it did) to call them. I hit it off really well with my interviewer and received a LinkedIn invite post-interview. We've continued chatting (work, family, and CBS experience) since then. So it wasn't awkward to casually ask him if he'd submitted the report since it hadn't updated online.

Admitted to columbia. Is there an admitted class of 2014 forum? I saw one for 2012 and 2013 but nothing for class of 2014.

OK guys I am on pins and needles now, really hopin I get that call!!!

In the meantime I did a little due diligence and thought I would share for all of those still waiting like me (already in the group mentality here)

I saw on this website the following breakdown of last years applicants

Applied: 6669
Interviewed: 1,734 (26%)
Accepted: 1,067 (16%)

Thus about 61.5% of applicants who interview get accepted.....

How many people are having a tough time connecting with alumni to do the interview? I've struck out so far, and one of my searches, using a zip code and distance, gave me someone in Italy. There also don't happen to be any alumni in my metropolitan area, so I'm having to search in my hometown and a couple cities I travel to for business occasionally.

I had problems as well. I got all the way to my seventh option before I got a yes, and only two others responded at all. It took two weeks to even set up an interview.

How many people does the FB page have?

320 members almost...but then again some are current 1st and 2nd year students. Based on my Columbia Connect experience, I met many many people in NYC who are not on the FB group. At least 150-200 admits turned up at the Feb event, where only 150 members were in the group including people from Japan, Brazil, India, who were not at the event.
