Common Misconceptions about the INSEAD MBA

Rumour has it – INSEAD’s MBA programme is difficult to get in, as it requires a mighty GMAT score. Or you might have heard that if you do not have a business background, your chances of getting admitted into INSEAD are low.

Nothing clears the air better than hearing directly from INSEAD’s admissions office, so here are some misconceptions that we have so often heard – debunked!

did anyone receive an application fee waiver? is that a possibility with Insead?

No

As far as I know the school doesn’t have a waiver

can someone please explain the language policy at Insead? I am very confused. I am an Indian national and speak Hindi and English. My graduation medium of instruction was English.
What should be put in the language sections?

You can put Hindi as native and English as whatever fluency level you understand it.

As per their language policy, knowing these 2 is sufficient for entry. Before graduating you will need to learn a third non-devnagari (non-Indian) language.

vk1496 thanks for answering. so English can be a second native. because I do not have IELTS/TOEFL score. I do have a certificate from my undergraduate university stating that the language of instruction is English.

I don’t think English can be your native if you already mark Hindi as native. You can put the other highest level on English (I suppose, Fluent) and in the reasoning tell them that you studied undergrad in English, no need for other scores

just to confirm, we have 48 hours after the deadline to complete the video essays? or do those have to be done by the same deadline.

INSEAD typically starts making the first admit calls about 2 weeks / 10 days before the notification date stated on the website. So you could get the admit call any day between let's say March 6th (Monday) and March 17th (Friday).

Waitlist decisions and rejections typically are released during the week leading to the notification date.
