Even I hope you understand that the message was that "score needs to be submitted as they remain important elements for the final admissions decision" Nowhere does it mention that a conditional admission will be granted. In fact, if you had attended one of the several adcom online outreach zoom webinars, you would have seen that they made it pretty clear that a score will be required for an admit and maybe would not have had to misinterpret messages.

Anyways, I feel that this being an unprecedented situation, lack of a score shouldn't be an automatic ding but instead maybe they allow the application to be moved to R3 to allow time for applicants to get a score.

How can you interpret from the above that a score will not be required? Regardless of the date, the message makes it pretty clear that no decision will be made without a score, doesn't it?

Hi all, regarding GMAT scores, this is INSEAD's stand (https://www.insead.edu/master-programmes/updates)

"You can now initially apply for INSEAD Master Programmes without a GMAT, GRE, EA or TOEFL test score, however, you will still need to submit the scores as soon as they become available as they remain important elements for the final admissions decision."

So one needs to submit the gmat score in order to receive an offer it seems.

does the above text mention any date, 20th july specifically ? No it does not, so one can always assume that the school would be giving conditional offers. That is what i am trying to say. I have asked the AO about this. Let's see what happens. I am not the only one irked by this

I hope you do understand the difference between "conditional offer" and "waiving the test". If you did, you would not be asking me the same question.

Also, all i am saying is that had the school mentioned a date, i would have applied in the next cycle, not this one.

A date was mentioned, 24 July, which is the final decision notification date. Now they mention its 20 July, that's 4 days ahead. Surely they need some time to evaluate your application in its entirety before the final decision. That the date for the gmat submission is a few days before the final decision date should be a reasonable guess. Maybe they will take your application and consider it round 3? Who knows.

And hey I'm not targeting you, I'm just putting up an info that's is not on the insead mba application page that people might miss. That's no need to be so aggressive.

Hey!

Please, be aware that taking the Online GMAT may be feasible even with power cuts, it is not ideal, but if they are brief they will allow you to reconnect and continue, if they are frequent they may just cancel your exam and you will be able to retake it another day.

Anyway, best of luck tomorrow at the test center!

Regards,
Pablo

Hello all,

As communicated in INSEAD email, We need to submit our GMAT scores before 20th July 2020.

Would the final decision notification(deadline 24th July) depend on whether the candidate has submitted the score before 20th July or INSEAD will give conditional acceptance stating that candidate can give the GMAT before the start of the course in January.

Has any of the AO's clarifed on this subject?

I had not noticed that they moved the decision deadline to July 24th! It makes sense since they moved to June 26th the interview notification.

Have you taken already this week the GMAT? How it was?

I do think your question answers itself, are you trying to get someone to tell you that you do not need to provide the GMAT?¿? If you must provide it before July 20th you must, period. They said that they need the GMAT to make a decision, I do not see much interpretation leeway there, you can always ask your AO about it.

Regards,
Pablo

Hey, hope you are doing well.

I am from India, where the number of covid cases is rapidly rising day by day. I was hoping to give the exam when the centres open up, weirdly the gmat centres have opened up despite the worsening covid situation. Stepping outside to give an exam is very scary. Online gmat does not accommodate everyone. In most parts of the country, there are untimely regular power-cuts that lead to unstable wifi connections. It is what it is. Most of the schools in the US had made it clear that one could apply w/o the gmat, but the school would need a gmat score by "x" date for complete evaluation. Insead kept it a little ambiguous in my opinion, did not mention any specific date, which led to a lot of people thinking that the school would be giving conditional offers. I am one of those people. Had Insead specified the said date ie 20th July, as other b schools did, I would have applied in the next cycle, not this one. So yeah, i'm in this extremely weird situation.
I have asked my AO about the same. Insead is my dream school. Let's see.

Regards,

Hi. Since the lock-down in India is now lifted, I am finally taking the GMAT tomorrow.

I can totally relate with the Power-cuts and WiFi issues. I haven't been able to give a single mock without a power-cut, so definitely cannot take the online GMAT. We can pause and re-open the mock test but not the actual GMAT :)

Thanks.

No problem if you have a different opinion, thats just how the world works. It was just the tone emanating from your posts which seemed to be extra-aggresive!
Anyways, all the best with your test!

Normally i don't do this, but here it goes. I am not enraged, just expressing my opinion. Secondly, this is a group conversation, a lot of people will agree with you, a lot of people won't. If you don't, it's fine. but anyway, why am i explaining this to you, after all what the school thinks really matters, what you think/I think does not with all due respect. So let it be.

All the best, Hope you do get an invite :) .......YNWA

has anyone been dinged or waitlisted so far in R2? or all the emails that people are getting are just acceptance emails? I am wondering if all of us who are still waiting may get dinged at the end.

There are no waitlists prior to interviews I believe. Saw one ding post on GC a couple of days ago. But I have the same feeling as you, are all the ones remaining the ones who would eventually be dinged. Hopefully that's not the case.

Please see below what was included in my interview invite as a general comment. I think this clears the air in the previous conversations.

“If you have not been able to take a test, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are exceptionally reviewing your file without your GMAT / GRE / English test (if applicable). However, now that online tests are available in most countries, we encourage you to schedule your test(s) as soon as possible and no later than 20 July. Please keep us informed of your test date(s) and results. It is important to understand that these tests are a requirement to join INSEAD.”

I just sent IR an email saying that my gmat is scheduled for July 17 and she responded in two seconds saying that please share your results !

I haven’t heard anything else from her. This was two days ago .
