Anyone has moved off from waitlisted? They say they review the list monthly, so wondering if anyone got off recently?

Hi guys!

I applied to INSEAD MiM R5 and I have been selected for interview, which MUST be completed by June 21st.

On Saturday morning I wrote an email to the Alumni who is supposed to interview me, but he never replied. Therefore, on Tuesday morning I sent him a WhatsApp text to inform him that I sent him my application form and CV and reminding him of the interview deadline. He read the text exactly 1 minute after I sent it, but again he did not reply.

I don’t want to bother him too much because I think his feedback will be really important for the final decision but I don’t know what to do. Should I send him another email or another text? Or should I contact INSEAD to explain the situation and ask for another interviewer/a deadline extension?

Thank you in advance guys :)

Hi AliceBissolino,

first of all, congratulations on your invitation to interview with INSEAD.

Unfortunately, the situation you described is not uncommon. Keep in mind that alumni interviewers are volunteers and they interview candidates as a way to give back to the school. So, if they are busy with work and all, the interview could not be among their highest priorities.

If I were you, I would email him once more with a friendly reminder. In this email, be very appreciative of his time. I talk from experience when I say that these interviews take a lot of their personal time. It's not just the interview, but the report they must send after takes time to write. So, it is always good to acknowledge this and be appreciative in your communications with them.

I would also email your AO and let her know about the situation. Worst-case scenario, she will find another interviewer.

And don't worry about the deadline. Deadlines can be extended and the day of the interview has no impact on the final outcome.

I hope this helps.

Warm regards
Alex

Based on the pattern in this thread (R1), calls start going out the week of the deadline i.e. the week of the 28th

Each round is different. There have been rounds when calls started being made 2 weeks before the deadline. In this case, that would mean around June 21st.

In any case, whenever they start, people will be getting calls every day until the very last day. So, if you guys see people getting calls and you haven't gotten yours yet, don't worry!

do calls follow a specific order? In other words, do stronger profiles get called earlier? or is it based on geography (e.g., all Canadians get called after Germans) ?

Hi Joy660,

calls do not follow any specific order. It has nothing to do with the strength of your candidacy, your nationality, the date you interviewed, the date you submitted your app...

AOs are divided by region. So, it can happen that some regions are being called first just because the AO covering that region has been given a list of admits to call before other AOs have. And admits living in that region (regardless of their nationality) will get the call before others living in other regions.

But this doesn't mean they always follow a specific order. Again, calls will be made daily until the very last day. So, even if someone from your region has gotten the call and you haven't yet, that doesn't really mean anything.

Warm regards
Alex
