Congrats to all those with interview calls, hope you all get in.

I'm one of those who's still working hard to get his application ready for Haas, unfortunately, don't know if I can make the december 2 deadline for R2 and am feeling extremely disheartened. I understand and agree with the general wisdom about preferring quality over speed when it comes to applications. And I know, for most schools R1 vs R2 doesn't make a huge difference.

I'm just wondering how it works with berkeley-- since the school has 4 rounds. Obviously earlier is better, but since it has 4 rounds, I'm not sure how to look at R2 vs R3. Is there a significant disadvantage of applying in R3? (like most other schools) or does Haas work differently.

Can anyone can shed some light on this? -- its been giving me sleepless nights. Would be great if a Haas student/ alum could throw some approx intake numbers for each of the rounds.. or just the general trend (say over 80% in R1+R2 or something like that)

Thanks in advance!
Ankur

I heard that for schools that have four admission rounds, the first two rounds (R1/R2 or EA/R1) would be the second round in a common 3-rd school. So I don't think for Haas you'd have disavantage.

SHEESH the application is cumbersome! I want to get mine in for R2 but the section about transcripts is ludicrous! Double sided copies of official transcripts scanned in AND a mail-in of our official transcripts? I've got like four! This is SO frustrating.

Just FYI. You need to scan both sides only if necessary:

•Be sure to scan BOTH SIDES of your documents (if necessary). Transcripts usually display important institution information on the back.

For example, in my country the back of the transcript contains important signatures and official dates when the document has officially been emitted.

The official transcripts needs to be mailed-in (snail mail) only on an interview invite. I'm planning to work on my app for R2, scan and upload transcripts before deadline - and then work on sending official transcripts by the time interview invites are doled out.

Last year, SS was almost 2 weeks before decisions came out in R1. If they followed the same timing this year, SS would be on New Year's Day, which they'd never do. So given the holidays, the only Saturday left is 1/8, 5 days before decision day. I'm thinking they may skip the event altogether. But who knows...

I called and asked about a R1 Super Saturday. The interview scheduler informed me that they are not having a Super Satuday for R1 this year. They will have one for later rounds.

I'm just wondering if R3 for Berkeley will be just a filler round, with majority of the seats being taken up in the first 2..

I've been very fortunate so far. Hopefully my conversion rate is good enough to yield an admit :)

Is there anyone who is a reapplicant to Haas? Did you redo your essays? I'm a reapplicant and wondering if they take more time to evaluate since they have the option to look at last years application as well?

I am redoing all my essays. They state somewhere that they look at the "effort" you put into your reapplication.
