Booth is my #1 school. I've had mixed success, not that I'm complaining. But I'm hoping Booth works out!

Thanks for the link. Wow just 15% :(

I feel like I'm going to be dinged without interview yet again :(

Hi guys.

My spring break is next week. I got a chance to visit Booth for a preview event, then I interview the next day. Is it worth it to fly all the way from South. I have been told that school won't be session and since decisions are out next week, the visit will not have an effect. Any opinions from you?

If I read your message right, you visited campus previously and interviewed on campus. I don't see how another trip would move the needle. Unless you are still trying to hammer home a post-admit decision for yourself, then it may be worth seeing more of the campus.

Even then, I'm not sure what data s/he could gather. It will be spring break, so no classes, tours, info sessions, or opportunity to watch Boothies in our natural environment. Save the money, do something fun, and hopefully we'll see you back for First Day.

Hi. Thank you for your help. I am concerned about my low GMAT score at this point and there isn't any time left for a re-take. I have plenty of application advise from past boothies. But I appreciate the help. Thanks again.

Are you wondering what the hot MBA jobs of the future will be? Take a look at these six up-and-coming jobs that US News & World Report highlights as well-suited for business school graduates. Not surprising, they all command solid salaries, and the US Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts hiring growth in these industries.
Here are US News’s top picks:
Operations research analyst: Higher-level operations research analysts usually have an MBA with a specialization in production and operations management. Consider top schools, such as University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and the Michigan Ross School of Business.

IT Manager: These professionals supervise employees, communicate with internal executives and outside vendors as well as plan various tech upgrades for their employer. Check out the excellent program for information systems at MIT Sloan School of Management.

Management Analyst: These professionals provide feedback on improving an organization’s efficiency and profitability. Competitive candidates have a few years of experience in operations, and have earned an MBA with a focus on management. Stanford Graduate School of Business and Harvard Business School have top programs.?

Financial analyst: These professionals help companies determine when to buy and sell investments.  The Chicago Booth School of Business and the NYU Stern School of Business offer top finance programs.

HR specialist: These professionals work with a company’s employees, by doing anything from recruiting them to training them to explaining their benefits. HR specialists don’t need an MBA, but the degree will help them stand out from the competition.

Information security analyst: These analysts monitor and protect an organization’s computer network and systems. Companies prefer to hire those with an MBA. The UT McCombs School of Business and Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business are top-notch programs for studying information systems.

As you can see, employers are looking for skilled managers to lead the way in today’s global economy. Business and management degrees can be a powerful driver of confidence and opportunity to achieve those ambitious goals.

FROM The Booth Experience: Tech and Entrepreneurship @Booth
I thought it would be interesting to write a post about some of the things the tech club here at Booth has done this year. These are common questions I have been asked and think would be useful to share. Does the tech club organize any trips to visit different tech companies? Yes, We have a very popular tech trek in December … Continue reading Tech and Entrepreneurship @Booth →

FROM The Booth Experience: Three Things to Keep in Mind as an Early-Career Candidate
In keeping with my trend of threes, here’re three things I recommend early career candidates keep in mind as they dive into the MBA research process: 1. Why you want an MBA (important) and why you want an MBA now (incredibly important). This is a no-brainer. Asking why you want to get an MBA is … Continue reading Three Things to Keep in Mind as an Early-Career Candidate →

Mine has always been green checkmark, however my TOEFL report has the red cross and awaiting status. I´ve been told this is nothing to worry about.

Actually if you get an email sometime during these days asking for the official report (happened to a friend of mine) you can safely assume you are in.

FROM The Booth Experience: Star’s STARtup Lessons
Most people come to business school to change careers, and I’m no exception. I worked as a tech entrepreneur in the mobile app space before business school and came to Booth to transition into a new career in the tech corporate space, one that would be more impactful, stable, and financially rewarding. Let me explain … Continue reading Star’s STARtup Lessons →
