perhaps not applicable to you as u had ur interview very recently but ppl are waitlisted ftom R1 and early action as well

Yeah it looks like they take two weeks to decide who gets admitted or who goes to waitlist every round. Since, they meet only once a week so effectively they meet twice for every round.

I was interviewed may be in the 2-3 days after submitting my application very soon in the cycle that too in early round. Still I received a WL. People who interviewed much later received an admit. So the reason is beyond the timing of the interview in a particular round
very valid example that refutes such claim of early intervire advantage

and it vrry much depends on whom against u hv been waitlisted....an applivant with xyz industry is likely to waitlisted against more or less same profile...else there will be no diversity

Yeah agreed. I am coming from a supply chain background, my friend is coming from a Hotel Management background from Australia. Typical Indian student tends to be an IT applicant or from Tech. So it gets harder for Indian applicants to be diverse.

and believe it or not...luck also plays a factor...what kind of applicants your round had....the more they are similar...toughrr will be chances......this is beyond one’e control.....but since we cant measure this factor we tend to igmore this and try to find quantative explanations owing to known factors.....

It also depends on the number of international candidates who have already filled up the spot. They maintain a fixed percentage of international candidates in the cohort. Considering they have a cohort size of approx 60, they might not take more than 15-20 international students. 13 + students have already received admits i think till now

They go as high as 75 students per year and split the internationals between 25 to 35 percent. Last year was 60 with 25 percent internationals and the year before 65 with 35 percent internationals. Judging by past data they take up to 8 to 10 Indian students. This year that might see an increase along with other internationals and domestic due to higher volume. It will be interesting what they will do with rest of us who had interviews pretty late as they didn't admit or waitlist us.

I think they are going from region to region. I guess they are finishing up with Indian students. Even though I am an Indian, I have lived in Australia for over a decade now but there are couple of Indians who are still waiting I guess.

Did you receive an official email or the information was updated to be waitlisted. For me, no mail, and the portal still shows "under reviewing".

Anyway, wait listed still means possibility, wish you all the best.

Waiting is really torturous. best wishes to all of us.

Especially when they are releasing admits and waitlists. Hopefully few of us get in. I am sure their yield for international students in earlier rounds may not be that high.
