I advice for applicants of later rounds.. Schedule your interviews asap once u recieve the invite. coz they make decisions on rolling basis and release decisions at once near the decision date

So the sooner u interview, the sooner they can make a decision on ur application.. once a slot fills up, they cant take u even if they want to..

I got this advice from a current student there

I know this is nerve wrecking. Almost most of them got a decision one way or the other. All this wait is not good. They should have released all the decisions in bulk and got it over with.

As of now I only know 4 of us are waiting including my friend and rest of them all received decisions

I haven't heard the decision, portal is still showing the same thing, though Andrea told me that I could expect a decision by 1st March. So may be a ding or waitlisted.

Hmm so that makes 4 of us and one from Vietnam who are still waiting for a decision. Most of us had interviews really late. I am sure you are also one of us who still didn’t have their application looked at. We will know our fate next week. If you were waitlisted you would have heard from them today.

It is partially true, Pamela Mars the career coach, who is also in the admission department took my interview told me that they will start taking decisions only when all the interviews are completed but will go one by one based on the interview date. That’s why they wanted all the interviews to be over by 28th Feb and wanted two weeks to decide as they only meet once a week.

If they are releasing all the decisions at once some of us will not be still waiting especially someone who had interview on 28th January.

They usually advise on what to do on your waitlist mail for a possible decision*. i don't know if your case falls in this category.

As far as I know and heard from adcoms the date of your interview doesn’t have any impact on decisions.

Yes, whoever are waiting they will let us know. I haven’t seen any denials from interviews yet even in earlier rounds.

Exactly, they will only start making decisions once all interviews gets over but go by batches whoever finished their interview first will fall in earlier batch. My interviewer basically confirmed my application won’t be looked at this week which seems to be true as I had no correspondence whatsoever.

There were fewer applicants in the early and first round, so instead of rejecting most schools WLed applicants. Suddenly the scene changes in R2, with an influx of domestic applications because of the layoffs etc. So, admits became tough for internationals in later rounds. WL is a strategy used by schools to manage their yield

That looks what happened indeed. Things are a bit against int’l pool now and in later rounds as more domestics are applying.

I think they are already done with international portion of the class, reserving very few spots for later rounds.

Therefore, I assume this waitlist was a respectful rejection.

If they were already done with the admission process for international students few of us will still not be waiting. We would have heard back from them along with other waitlisted students.

And regarding to the interview date, my interview date in R1 was very late, almost the lastest date possible. So maybe as someone said above, the date of interview is somehow important

Nope doesn’t make sense and adcoms mentioned that interview date doesn’t make a difference which I tend to agree. There is no point interviewing students of that was the case, they have very limited resources it is charade of a process they just wouldn’t invite you to interview in the first place.

If they already have decided to keep me on waitlist, I would have heard back from them along with other people who got waitlisted today. Only thing makes sense is they didn’t even look at my application this week and I was hinted as much by my interviewer.
