Hi Prakash,

I am planning for R3. Can you let me know the chances of admission in R3??

Hi LUC999,

Without knowing your profile details, it's hard for me to tell anything. However, R3 is not too bad at all! You have good chances in R3 also even if you are an international student.

Hi Prakash,

I am planning for R3. Can you let me know the chances of admission in R3??

Hi Prakash,

I actually have similar question too.
I'm planning to apply for R2 (still preparing Essay and Gmat to be completed before Jan 14).
My background is in Marketing. I started working for Unilever as a Assistant Brand Manager right after college.
During the 2 years at Unilever, I got promoted to be a Senior Assistant Brand Manger and worked around Brand marketing and category management.
After the 2 years, I left the company because I had to move to California for family.
Coming next Jan I'll be working at Nielsen (the market research firm) for over 3 years.
In Nielsen, I'm a client facing consultant for the client's marketing and innovation team.

I feel my background is pretty solid (especially a good foundation in the marketing). But I'm still worry about my application, because I've studied for 3-4 months, and my GMAT score is still around 550 (my verbal is weak).

Any though on my profile? I can provide more information on my background.

One more question if you don't mind. Any tips on the application essay?

Thanks,
Wayne

Actually, the big question is are you a LDS member?
I'm not and the Admissions Coordinator pointed that their 80% of our admitted candidates have GMAT scores 640-710
So if they have for example non LDS with 550 and LDS member they will choose LDS.

Dr. Hill was very personable and great to speak with. I felt like the interview went very well.
Have you already received the decision?

Submitted my app yesterday. Still waiting on a couple recommendation letters though. Does anyone know if they wait for Rec Letters to come out before they invite for interviews? Also, about how long do they take to get back to us?

I think you have a great chance given your strong GMAT and international background. Why don't you submit for Round 2?

Completely false, I would say they would choose a non-LDS if they had a choice between the two. However, a score of 550 is too low regardless. Aim for 650+

R2 better, you 'd better connect to adcom and ask them for an opportunity to apply before they get your Toefl results

I sure did! I've been admitted. I'm still waiting on other schools before I make my final decision, but I hear this year's class is pretty competitive. Good luck to everyone!

I think it depends on when you submit the application. For me, I submitted the application in mid November and heard that I had been invited for an interview in early December (after the round 1 due date). I got admitted on 12/12. :)
