Hey guys, so I had my interview with someone from admissions today, and it went incredibly well. It turned into more of a conversation, which was great. I was able to open up and crack a few jokes, and we talked about many things unrelated to Bschool.
Here are some questions I was asked:
1. Tell me about your choice to attend Cornell
2. What made you move to LA?
3. What kind of industries did you work with in consulting?
4. Why healthcare private equity?
5. In your app, you talk about start-ups and how you want to enter PE, so what do you want to do?
6 (Follow up). So, what kind of PE shop do you want to work with?
7. If IBD after Bschool doesn't work out, then what?
8. What are your thoughts on consulting?
9. (Best Q): you have alot on your resume. What do you think it leaves out about you?
10. What role did you play in the goldman sachs close?
11. how did the company change?
these questions were very very specific, which makes sense since she's read all my essays and had my app.
She made comments like "you clearly know what you want to do" and "you clearly know why you want to go to Columbia".
She had one last question for me, and that was where my nickname came from. She asked that out of personal interest. We also talked about the CBS follies, and sports injuries.
My tip: be yourself! Make it a conversation. Enjoy the conversation and it will pay off.
