Hey all - Just had my interview tonight. Got the invite last Thursday at about 5 EST. Email the next day with the instructions for contacting local alums. Sent emails to about 6 people, was able to set it up with a time that was convenient within a couple of hours.

Interview went fairly well I think. I had my answers down, although I probably could have articulated a bit better. It was all pretty straightforward. The questions were as follows:

- First he asked about my current position and I gave him some background information about myself
- Why Columbia?
- Why an MBA, why now?
- What are your career goals? Why?
- Not sure if this was an official question, but he asked if I was looking at specific clubs
- What other schools have you applied to?
- What is your back-up plan if you dont get into Grad school this year?
- Leadership experience
- Ethical dilemma
- Biggest adversity in life.

Let me know if anyone has any questions about it. Now, the waiting game. Again. Gotta love this process.

Anyone visiting Columbia in the upcoming weeks?

I'll be visiting on Monday 9/20 for the Entrepreneurship Info Session. I missed out on signing up for Host Program as it was already filled for that day. So I may have to make another trip to Columbia to get an even closer experience of the program. It's always helpful to have someone give you first hand insight into the program and the school.

I will sit in on a class or two in the meantime. Any specific class I should definitely check out? Anything else to definitely see?

When I attended the Host Program in the spring, I sat in on a class called Entrepreneurial Selling. It seemed to be a great class. I would definitely recommend trying to sit in on it if you are interested in Entrepreneurship.

When you guys say your application is complete, what exactly does your status say? When I log in, mine just says "Interview complete." Is that the same as what you guys are referring to? Does my status mean that my application isn't yet complete? I'm confused...

Yeah mine shows with "interview complete". Consensus here is that your application is complete.

Anyone else here see the fields that I see? I know one other person here that got the same.

Any admits see this?

Hopefully it's a good sign

Hi all, although Mary Miller told me on Friday (9/10/2010) that my admission status online would change by Monday, I didn't actually receive the status update until this morning. Here's a quick update on how the online system changes after admission:

Now when I log into the system, I see "The Admissions Committee has rendered a decision on your application" where it used to say "Interview Complete."

In addition, I see "Decision Status: Available Beginning 9/14/2010" instead of "....8/27/2010" (the date my interview report was uploaded). When I click on "Your application decision is now available online," the pop-up window includes the acceptance letter whereas before it was a simple two line acknowledgement that my interview report had been received.

I have two weeks from today (my official acceptance date) to submit the enrollment form and deposit.

Geez, I'm filled with envy right now. Ok, so I guess my application is deemed complete after all. If I don't hear anything this week, I'm going to flip. I need to move on with my life and this waiting period is killing me.

Best of luck to you as well as phillymba2012 and cpaswitcher, who (according to the spreadsheet) are next in line to receive decisions.

All: I took two summer classes at a local community college which transfered credit/no credit to my main undergraduate institution. These credits show up on my official transcript, but don't indicate the grade, etc, nor are they factored into my overall GPA.

Do you think Columbia wants me to track down the transcript for these two classes, or are they sufficiently immaterial?

I did the same thing when I was an undergrad and included the summer course transcript with my CBS application. If I were you, I would include the summer transcript, too. I'm sure CBS wants to see those grades.

Well, as I feared, the two week mark has hit with no Interview Report filed. I called admissions yesterday and they said that they'll handle reaching out to the interviewer. Getting kind of frustrated now as this is going to push a decision back and I might potentially have to pay to submit R1 apps to some other schools. UGH

I played it safe and wore a dark suit, even though I met my casually dressed interviewer at Starbucks, both of us are nonprofit types, and it was pouring outside. Certainly if you're going to meet someone at their office, I think a suit is expected.

I also received my official acceptance via the online system today. Lawgone, did you receive your online ID/username? or do you only receive it once the deposit is received?
