The decision clock has started for me. Went interview complete today.

Anyone know what Columbia's interview/offer rate is?

Via: https://www.businessweek.com/bschools/ra ... umbia.html

APPLICANTS

Applications (admitted and denied) to the newest class: 6,666
Applicants who were accepted to the most recent class: 15 %
Applicants who were re-applicants from prior years: 10 %
Percentage of this year's reapplicants accepted: 24 %
Applicant interviews are: By invitation only
Applicants (admitted and denied) who were interviewed: 27 %
Admitted applicants who were interviewed: 100 %

So it looks like 27% of applicants are interviewed, 15% of applicants are admitted, and therefore 55.6% of those interviewed are admitted.

Awesome, thanks. I didn't realize that business week had posted that info.

Wow. I'm really surprised at how low their interview rate is. I thought it was around 35% or so.

anyone else surprised no one that applied in january has gotten an interview invite yet? I know there was probably a huge influx around that time period, but seems like they should be working their way through the pile...it's been at least 2-3 weeks since most of us went under review -

Is that right??? Oh phew. I haven't been keeping up with this board and was just about to ask this very question.

I submitted Jan 5th and went under review Jan 19th... waiting!

I think the % of applicants interviewed is higher actually based on comments made by CBS Associate Director of Admissions Michael Robinson: "We will probably interview anywhere from 35%-40% of the applicant pool." I pulled this from a CBS Q&A interview transcript on Accepted dated 11/10/2010.

I submitted my app on Jan 3rd and the Application Status still says 'Submitted'

"Congratulations, ***** ! All required questions have been completed and your Application has been successfully submitted. "

Do your applications say 'Under Review' or something? Is it weird that it hasn't changed status in so long?

I know this is a small sample but from looking at various forums, very few RD applicants who applied in late december have gotten interview invites. No idea what's going on.

Have all of your reviews gone in as well? There is a "printing" status and an "under review" status at CBS. I might call since it's been so long.

Also, check your message center to make sure there wasn't any follow up.

Left hand side of the status page of your application.

I am in the same boat as you manishkris. I submitted on 1/3 (last review was submitted on 1/5) and have not received a single status update. Not even the "Under Review" one that everyone else seems to have gotten. I emailed them last week explaining this and asking them if there may be something missing. They responded by saying that my application was under review and there was nothing missing. If you do contact them, could you please post or PM me their response?

I spoke to the ad com. Supposedly, the process takes 8 - 12 weeks. Our app statuses should change in the next few weeks. He said and I quote "There is nothing to worry about". For some reason I don't believe him completely. :(

1) I applied Jan 23 and went under review on the 30th. I doubt it means anything, just the swings of applying with rolling admissions.

2) What is Columbia Connect and do you have to be invited to attend?

Columbia Connect is for admitted students. Hope you get to go to the one in April!
