Got the call yesterday from Sabrina!!!!

Background: Re-applicant, 730 GMAT, 3 years at premium management consulting firm in the Middle East, engineering undergrad.

Submitted: 07/23
Interview Invite: 08/06
Interview: 08/13
Interview Report Submitted: 08/15
Admitted: 08/26!

Congrats! How was the interview?

The interview went great. The guy was young, graduated 2-3 years ago, and it was really conversational. While we discussed the typical questions for the first 30 minutes (walk me through your resume, why MBA, why Columbia, why now), afterwards we talked about common interests for another 30 minutes, and about what he was doing at the moment, and how much I was going to enjoy living in New York :)

It sounds like even for re-applicants it is the exact same process post application submission (invited to interview, interview, wait to hear). I was on the waitlist last for August 2014 for 5 months and spoke with my waitlist manager several times a month. I'm curious if anyone else has re-applied from the waitlist and what their experiences have been. Has anyone been through that process?

i am also a re-applicant but i didn't have the pleasure/pain (depending on you view it) of being wait listed last year. to be honest i think u stand a huge chance this year

My interview report was submitted on the 20th so today is the 8th working day. Seems a little longer than last year at this time but still within the 1-2 week range. I am hoping to find out today so I at least have resolution heading into the long weekend and I can start making plans one way or another.

Hey guys,
I am currently trying to finalize my essays (applying for the J-Term), and I was wondering whether I could assume that someone reading the second essay will have already red the first one, i.e. I can build on what I have already written, or if it is safer to write the essays in a more independent manner. Any opinions?

Thanks a lot and good luck to everyone - hope to see many of you guys in January / next September :)

Hi there,

I would encourage you to write to the admissions office and ask about this. you could also post the question on the "ask the CBS admission" thread . Matthew (associate director of the admissions office) there will answer your question.

My personal opinion is: you can build on what you've written. the readers are likely to read your essays in sequence and will have just read essay 1 when they begin reading essay 2. However, i'd really recommend you to write to the admission office and ask about it. I am a re-applicant so this year i didn't write the three required essays for new applicants.

hope it helps!

Ken

Guys, just had my interview last Saturday. The interview went well, very informal.
It is Monday already and I didn't receive na email confirming he submitted the assessment. Should I be worried?
