Yes, I sent them a couple of weeks ago, I did prepare with some time after getting done with my GMAT in early June.

Does anyone have the statistics on the % of students admitted who interview? Also if one gets invited to interview is the decision based solely on the interview (aka the rest of your application is deemed satisfactory) or is the interview feedback reviewed in conjuction with the rest of your application?

I don't know about %'s officially but I have heard it is about 50/50 maybe slightly better. I do however have an official answer regarding the interview and decision. According to Matthew from the admissions team who is kind enough to answer our questions in "Ask Columbia GSB Admissions"

Roughly 33% of applications get an interview invite and of those interview close to 50% as stated above get an offer

Well the wait is finally over, I am going to Columbia!

Submitted: 07/30
Interview Invite: 08/13
Interview: 08/19
Interview Report Submitted: 08/20
Admitted: 09/03

Interview was with a grad about 5 years out. I live in Germany so I interviewed at her office in Frankfurt. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect because Germans tend to be a little more formal than Americans in situations like this but it went pretty much like everyone else said, very conversational with the basic why MBA, why CBS, why NYC type questions. Overall it lasted 90 minutes and I felt great afterwards but I guess you never really know how the other person truly perceives you. Just stay on point about why CBS and as long as you are being genuine try to link each answer back to some component of the school and what makes it a perfect fit for you.

So it seems that it is taking a little longer than last year, but it is still an awesome feeling to have this all figured out now so early in the process. Good luck to the rest of the applicants who are still waiting! If anyone has any questions I am happy to assist where I can.

Yeah,that was pretty fast. I wasn't expecting the call so early. I guess the timing for na answer is about 2 weeks, but two days??

Quick comments on my background: Brazilian, four years in PE in infrastructure and oil&gas, GMAT 720 (49,39), graduated in business administration among the top quartile (have no idea what my GPA is).

Hope to see you all next year in CBS!
