This is simply not true. I haven't interviewed at HBS myself but the feedback I got from people who interviewed at HBS as well as Booth is that Booth is much more focused on the fit in the community. This can probably be better evaluated by a student or alumni than an admissions officer. Just because it is not done by admissions does not imply that nobody cares. And of course it is subjective. They determine whether they want you in or not. If someone is a jerk, he will probably not get in as you often have a bunch of other applicants with a similar background and same stats who did not flunk on the jerk meter. sorry, those emails don't mean anything, even though they come from "Booth MBA Admissions". They go to everyone who is signed up in their system (i'm a guy and was invited to the women at booth thing, for example).
