This is very surprising. I thought waitlists from R1 who interviewed in R2 would be considered as R2 applicants and get their results with R2 only.

That is also what I thought. I was waitlisted in R! and then got an interview later

Would you guys usually update your promotion at current employment at this point? I got promoted recently and not sure if i need to let adcom know soonest or shld wait til the result in coming weeks...

I don’t think this update will swing the final decision one way or the other but it would be good to keep the adcom in the loop and let them know that you are really interested in this school 🙂
