Hi! is there a way to get application fee waiver for Columbia MBA other than what's written on the website below?

"Fee waivers are available to full-time students, active duty US military personnel, eligible displaced persons (view this website for displaced eligibility criteria), and members of the Peace Corps or Teach For All network partners who are currently in service. Proof of current service is required. "

Thank you so much!

11:59 PM but your question concerns me a little because you don’t necessarily want to wait until then because they have rolling admissions.

If you’re interested in January intake, or even EA I would start prepping for that now (I’m working with clients on CBS now) and then focus on the essays once application opens in June.

Right now I’m working with people on their overall narrative, positioning, introspection, goals, letters of recommendation, résumé, activities, extracurriculars, LinkedIn…

it’s very unlikely that the goals as they will change, which is the main one, some degree of likelihood #2 will change, and I would say, it’s very unlikely that the favorite book/movie one will change).

Tldr; rolling admissions- submit as soon as possible after that to increase your chances. Your chances deteriorate the longer you wait, especially if overrepresented.

May I ask your advice about my chances of getting in if I apply on 5 April?

Country: Indonesia, Woman, WE: 4 years on Sept 2023, Industry: consulting from big 4 companies, EA score: 153, GPA magna cum laude from one of the best uni in the country, Undergraduate Major: social science, a lot of extracurriculars.

I don't think I can apply in the next cycle because I will resign this month.

Just wondering if it's worth trying to apply. Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Is terrific that you got a really high GPA from the terrific University, but the EA is not real competitive. Even though this is the deadline in the words of Michael Robinson they have a handful of seats open even in March and April. It’s just so minimal. The fact that it’s rolling admission makes things even worse than round three or round 4 odds. I would say around this time they would be focused on people with sky, high test scores, very under represented demographically, or have some element of celebrity. If it’s possible for you to achieve your goal without an internship, my strong recommendation would be to apply in June or July to the January intake when the app opens (start now) And apply to INSEAD for Jan. Sorry I don’t have better news, of course I don’t have all the information and so if you want to apply of course do that - but based on what I’m seeing here I don’t think there are very good odds at all if you had applied in September than medium odds. But still lowish EA - sorry I don’t have better news, of course I **don’t** have all the information and so if you want to apply of course do that but based on what I’m seeing here I don’t think there are very good odds at all for this year. I don’t know what your math scores for EA so that’s important - need to be 12+ . Keep in mind if you apply now you probably won’t get an objective review if you apply again for next cycle because they’re looking for the change in your application.

Hey everyone,

Has anyone applied in April nearing the deadline?

How soon do they reply with a decision on wether to invite for an interview or not?

Also, how significant is a high G.M.A.T. (770) in aiding to grow shortlisted for an interview so late in the admission cycle? The same is coupled with a former consulting experience, F&B Hospitality entrepreneurship (~ 1 Mil Annual Revenue), multiple industry awards, a nationally recognized leadership award, and good G.P.A.s across a UG and PG program.

The anticipation is growing heavy now!

GMAT will help but likely they will also find more diverse candidates with high test scores (if you’re overrepresented) It’s a Hail Mary attempt - would definitely apply to January intake in June instead of you don’t need an internship.

There are going to be some B schools out there looking to bump up the class profile GMAT and will look at applicants with high GMATs but probably more likely they are looking to increase class diversity even more (this related to diverse work experience not only demographics)

This is related to R3/R4 end of cycle
