I received an interview invite today saying Johnson wants to schedule an interview asap.
I guess they don't have an online system, because it says to call or email to set up a time.
Ithaca here I come.

I am a rd 2 applicant and my app went under review 12/1, so it took about 6 weeks.

Hello friends!

congratulations to those who got interview calls.

Many ppl here are worrying about the not being called for interview yet!
well, take my case, I got called 1 week before decision notification deadline of R1.

It is true that the timeline of interview has no significance on your decision.

about me, semiconductor industry person with 4 yr exp working as a Tech Lead in India.
GMAT 750+5.0, got waitlisted in R1
btw, I would be happy to answer your queries to my capability!

Also, any advice you ppl have for me is welcome and would be glad to find any peers

haha well they dont have to go that far, im sure weve all posted our score and work experience somewhere on this website that narrows down the search... :)
plus Ari123 seems to be short for a person with Aries sunsign(just a guess)...... so its not hard.... :twisted: :twisted:

Well hopefully all of us waiting to hear from cornell get some good news next week... dont think they would send out IV calls on weekends... my F5 key and gmail need some rest over the weekend :)

I submitted my R3 application at Johnson on the 12th and got an email asking me to fill out the essay for the Park scholarship and return it in 10 days (if I chose to). Was this a "required" optional essay for all US citizens? I didn't fill it out because I didn't have the time for another essay. Would appreciate any feedback.

From past experience, interview invites come out even at decision day.
So don't sweat it.
Getting late interviews just means that your app is at the bottom of the piles.
Hope this can serve as some sort of stress relieve for some of you. :)

A couple of us got that email in R2 also...

Although if you read through the thread you'll find at least one person who didn't get it. I therefore have no idea what it means. I went ahead and wrote it - 400 more words could equal a full ride! Plus I assumed it would look like I wasn't that interested if I didn't. I guess my thoughts were: it can't hurt to do it (they don't read your Park essay as part of your application), but it could hurt to ignore it. And it could result in something totally awesome.

appreciate your response dosmanos. I'm going to write the essay now considering that I have nothing much to lose. I just hope that when they read my application and see a "No" checked next to Park scholarship they don't automatically put it in the reject pile... Did you let your application manager know that you sent in the Park essay after the fact?

Yes, about half make it after the interview (including WL). Interview at JGSM is considered the most important. Not only did I hear this from credible sources (people who have worked at JGSM admissions), but also I read an old JGSM BW profile that ranked both GMAT and interviews as "Most Important". Since then, they have changed all the criteria to "very important". It is also rather important to interview at Ithaca (unless you live outside of North America).

Among other things, be friendly and outgoing. They are looking to weed out the uber-geeks who only seek book-learning and detest social, networking, and student activities.

I didn't, but that's a good point. Maybe I should have. I'll try to sneak it into my interview.

I'll be applying Rd.4 instead of my original plan of Rd. 3. I tried searching past threads for Rd.4 applicants, but no luck. I guess I'll be the guinea pig :shock:
