Has anyone already finished with:
" If you were on an elevator with your dream company CEO or angel investor, what would you tell him/her about your professional ambitions and goals?"

Any suggestions how to go about it?

In this case, literally picture yourself in the elevator with that dream person and imaging this is that once in a lifetime opportunity, what would you say to this person (literally speaking)?

It might be helpful if you record yourself for a few times and just say a few sentences (again, imaginig you were on that elevator). This way, you can go back and edit the words you speak and see if they make any sense.

Guys,
Do whatever you can to apply in R1, providing your application is ready. Last year the yield in R1 was higher than expected, making it harder for the admissions office to extend the usual number of offers in R2 and R3. Don't freak out if you plan to apply in R2 or R3 though. Just a tip. Good luck!

Do they have only one essay (or 3 if you consider the 2 150 word questions)? Very weird after having seen LBS, Haas etc that have around 6.

yes, one essay (or 3 if you consider the 2 150 word questions). This is how Darden has traditionally done it.

Hey guys - just wanted to introduce myself. I'm currently a Darden SY student and will be happy to take all questions you may have about the school. I started a new forum post - search for "Ask a Darden Student Round 1"!

Good luck!

Hey, stupid question:
The Darden application is different from the other schools, for recommendations, when are emails sent out? As soon as you hit "Save and continue to test scores" ?

Also, "Privacy Waive"... what does that mean? Other schools use the text "Do you wish to waive your right to examine this letter of recommendation?" which is very clear. But for "Privacy Waive" whose privacy are we talking about here?

About the waiver, you are right, it is not clear. If you wish to waive your right to see the letter of recommendation then click yes.
About the recommendations, you filled it and emails weren't sent out? If not you can ask for some help from the technical support at admissionstechsupport@darden.virginia.edu.

Good luck!

Thanks Darden.

I'm pretty sure they were sent out, there are just no indication on the form that they were sent out, and I originally added one recommender then saved it, then went back the next day to add the other, and I wasn't sure if the original one would be spammed again. No big deal, just wasn't sure.

I would send it ASAP. The adcom would definitely be checking their emails, and it makes you look MUCH better if you send a thank you note promptly. Just my $0.02.

With due respect, does doing so really matter?

I believe that if your application is solid and you are able to state why you want to go to Darden, then even without a prompt 'Thank you' note, one should be able to make it.
