I was in constant touch with Fuqua, updated them with all new developments, submitted an additional recommendation and visited Fuqua again. I didn't take the GMAT again. Since my score was 740, I didn't think I'd be able to improve it significantly in the given time.

In at Fuqua today! Anyone have any thoughts between a full scholarship at UT Austin / full scholarship at UNC / and possibly no money at Fuqua? I have no idea what to do.

do Fuqua still have the no co-signer loan for internationals? it's in their web-site but just wanted to check this with other international admits from earlier rounds...

Question for admitted students (international) who have to complete the calculus requirement: Any idea where you are going to do it? Is it possible to do an online course or something?

Also, accomodation - I am not sure I will be able to make it to BDW. How does one go about securing accomodation from a distance? Would I be at a huge disadvantage if I went a week before 1 Aug to find a place?

Any thoughts on the matter are welcome!

Some more questions:

1. I have accepted my offer online from the decision letter and I went to the new Web site for the 2013 Duke MBA class at www.fuqua.duke.edu/welcomestudents. The letter instructs you to 'look for an e-mail with login instructions to begin networking with future classmates and to receive key announcements and guidance.' but all I see is 'For first-time login: You will receive an email from the Fuqua Admissions Department with account creation instructions for this website. If you have any trouble logging in after following the instructions, please contact technical support at [email protected].' Does anyone know when I will get this email?

2. I have asked to be a member of the official Duke Fuqua Class of 2013 FB group. Perhaps because it is a weekend, I haven't yet been granted access. Have any of my fellow R2 admitted students become members of the group already?

I probably wouldn't feel comfortable waiting until August, but that is just me...also, do you need to be here for language institute? Because that starts mid-July. You will still find something, but it may be more expensive or further away/less desireable location.

I would not worry too much about this...just give it a few days. I think it took us some time to get set up with incoming students access & on Facebook, I assume the requests are all cross-referenced with the admit list which can take time.

That's a good problem to have...it probably depends on what you want to do and what the recruiting is like at each school, but I would have a hard time turning down a full scholarship. You can always try to negotiate with Fuqua.

Thanks for the answer, the only reason I ask is because that's the biggest week for us at my current company (big product launch).

One other question, are there any week long or 2 week long holidays (where there are no classes, internships, exams, etc)? If there are, when?

I did not attend the admit weekend. To me, it was simple, it was a sell weekend. And they will sell you the school. If you are sure you will be attending, there is no point of going. If you are on the fence then definitely go.

Have a good time if you attend!
