And no, I'm an American, but based in Shanghai. There was another prospective American student who interviewed as well, but the rest were all locals (about 20).
Then, count you in, there are three prospective American applying in Beijing & Shanghai, I never thought about that many interviewees either.
It is said that only 20-30% of those applicants will be admitted. Let's hope for the best then.
I am Chinese, with some years of living in U. Personally, I prefer to speak with Adcom, instead of Chinese Alum. I've heard some people were challenged pretty badly by Chinese Alums.
Because from what I know, they interview around 55% of applicants. Thus, they accept almost half of the people they interview.
