Renting a car is definitely a good idea. Though the airport is only a 15 minute drive from campus, taxis are $45 each way.

Definitely recommend renting a car because it's so cheap. I had mine for 24 hours and the total bill was something like $18. Durham must be a city that hasn't figured out how to tax unsuspecting rental car drivers yet.

How are you guys getting such low rates? I can barely get anything under $35-40/day. Any CDP codes to share? I will be picking the car up from RDU myself. Thanks.

Hey Guys, Good luck to everyone interviewing. I stayed a little further and interviewed on campus. I rented a car using hotwire. The rate is prepaid so you cant change anything, but was able to get it for 10 bucks a day or so. For the open interview period, they have parking reserved for interviewees, I would assume they will do something similar for people coming in now. Either way good luck!

Any accepted candidates got their packages?? International folks?? I still haven't gotten mine yet!
