Hi all - I wanted to know if Fuqua’s essay ‘25 random things about yourself’ allows for pictures for 2-3 points. Is anyone planning on adding pictures? Some applicants mentioned that they included pics last year - wanted to understand what’s the limit

Hi Alveera, in my knowledge, yes you can add pictures for a few points. There is no limit as such, but everything has to be finished in 2 pages. So adding a picture takes reasonable amount of space. So I think, there should be a balance. The idea is to communicate your personality effectively.

Sometimes, a picture can convey an Idea without taking a lot of text space. So I think strategic use is very important.

One thing that I know that doesn’t work is adding youtube link, because I think they can’t open the link that you paste. I made this mistake last time. If you plan on sending a video, suggest you to ask the adcom directly on what could be the best way.

1. You can add pictures (2-3) if you really desire to. That said, my applicants have got admission without using any pictures. So if you plan to add any, they should be compelling.
2. More important, I have seen applicants not follow the rules laid out by the admissions team- to use, in order to fit photos . Here’s what they say: Responses should use 1.5-line spacing and a font size no smaller than 10-point.
I am a stickler for following this rule and will suggest you take a judgment on photos based on how much you want to twist this rule to fit them in.
