Hi all,

I got offered conditional admit and need to submit my GMAT/GRE score or take Harvard Business publishing coursework. And along with the mail they sent offer letter mentioning that I need to register for program and send admission fee by October 1st.

-Does this mean my score in the test is not going to be a factor in my admission?
-Also can someone tell me about the HBP coursework?
-Lastly, can I ask them to waive the test requirement based on academic performance? When I had spoken to Adcom back in June I was told I would not need to submit the score.

Thanks!

Hello everyone,

Closing the loop on my admission process.

Received an admit with a 4000Euro Dean's merit scholarship. It took AdCom 1 week to let me know their decision. I've been given till October 1st (2 weeks since receiving the admit offer) to confirm my place.

I applied in the 4th round (August 4th deadline) and the entire process took 6 weeks.

P.S. - For anyone wondering about what disruption Covid might cause. The college is offering to refund any fees paid in full and an unconditional deferment offer if the program goes online for the 2021-22 cohort.

Congrats for the news

Does the schools anticipate online lectures again? My friends there have classes but with less numbers. The vibe of the class, though, is not high as normal.

Thank you!

They plan to rent out additional space at nearby event centres and hotels in order to have smaller class sizes and maintaining distancing norms. Barring government directives, they plan to have in-person classes throughout 2021. And from what I was told regarding their communication with the Dutch government, another lockdown is not on the cards unless the situation drastically changes.

Hi everyone,

I have taken my GMAT on September and submitted to Erasmus. The recruitment manager two weeks ago contacted me to have an interview and we've done it last week where she suggested me to start application. I have several questions that I hope you could answer:

1. What does the manager mean? Does this represent positive reply on my GMAT score?
2. I see that the application deadline is on October 8th and early November. If I apply on November, how big is the chance to get admitted?
3. If I go through the application, will I have to go through the Kira interview? Is there any chance to waive the interview? Sorry for such basic question since I'm still a newbie in application.
4. Since I got a scholarship from my company, how big it will influence to my application?

Thank you.

Hi Bragged,

As per their pre-assessment, so far it's a positive reply and you might have a chance. But please note that the interview will play a huge role to get your final decision.

Already it's late. As the program will start in early Jan, I would suggest applying ASAP. FYI, if you reside outside of Europe and if you need a visa to enter then its high time to apply.

For my instance, I got both Kira and the final interview invitation at the same time. I think Kira could be just a formality for some cases but you may not skip it.

Since you have already found a scholarship opportunity from your employer, it could play a positive influence. However, they evaluate based on the whole profile.

Best of luck!

Hi bangalrabbs,

Thank you so much for your answers. I'll try to go through this October then (5 days left!). I hope I can make it.

Thanks a bunch!

Hi Bragged

This is positive sign to encourage to apply.Yet, interview in any MBA is a crucial step in application. The company scholarship is nice sign about you and your company commitment. I had a Korean friend who was fully sponsored by his company to do RSM MAB.

P.S.: I was in same situation like you in same time application. PM me.

Hi Mo2men,

Thank you for your answers. So I understand that the previous interview is a pre-application interview, but the real one is yet to come. Therefore there're lots of homework that I have to do  .

I have PM-ed you. Thanks and good luck!

The essay question states that: Your example can be large or small, global or local, but must highlight the positive impact you’ve had through your efforts. Tell us your story.

Does this mean I need to stick to only one examle or multiple examples can work?

I picked up a theme of sustainability but picked up an example of my childhood to display my inspiration and then showed an example of the positive impact I had thorugh a year-long fellowship personally while studying and then finally used an example where I leveraged my learnings to create a direct impact through my work. Will this storyline with 2-3 examples work? Or should I just limit it to one example?

Apreciate a quick response considering the deadline!

If you have the word limit permitting and you have already explained an example in full, you can mention one more example is what I feel.

What is exact time for the application deadline tomorrow? Would it be 11:59 PM CET on Oct 07?

Also will it be okay if the recommenders submit over the next 2-3 days?

If not time zone is specified on the website, I would assume 11:59 PM in the timezone of the school on the deadline but I would try to submit a few hours earlier just to be safe :)

Also, regarding the recommendations:

Ideally, schools like it if they get all the application details by the deadline but since recommendations are not in your hand, schools are a bit lenient on when they receive them. So, you can try to reach out to the school and see because each school has its own policy on this :)
