I remember Booth did something similar, like they sent me an email saying "Know more about Chicago Booth" from the adcom account a couple days before they started releasing interview invites...

I am pretty sure that everyone is overanalyzing the chat invite. I don't think there is any correlation between chat invites and interview invites/admission decisions.

My guess is that who they send the chat invites to is independent of interview/admission emails (I have no special knowledge of how the admissions office at Sloan is structured, so take this for what it's worth). Given the amount of work the adcom must be doing to make their decisions, I'd imagine that marketing and outreach are done by different people. Maybe your contact information just didn't happen to be on whatever mass distribution list they decided to email.

I have a general question.

If you were told by the admission staff that certain director level admissions officer handles scholarship reconsideration process, you e-mail the said admissions officer to ask some questions and get no response in a couple of days. Is it okay to call the admissions officer (only the e-mail information was provided, I looked up the phone number in the school's online directory)?

I would't get worry about this chat invitation, they send it to all their DB, I got the e-mail in 3 mail accounts, 2 different from the one 1 used for the application process.
