No problem. However as someone said something conflicting you should still double check. Write the same question on their forum.

I thought I was told something else but misunderstood. You are correct. I double-checked with admissions.

Can some one please tell me where to find formatting instructions for Yale essays? I am talking about specific fonts or sizes to be used any line spacing? Just wanted to double check if I was missing some thing.

I was a reaplicant as well. I wrote Essays 1 & 2 and answered question #5 for essay #3. As I was accepted I am assuming that this is all that was required. But I would ask just in case.

Since you were a re-applicant who got accepted, can you shed some insight on how you approached your re-applicant essay. I'm curious to gain an idea of "steps" adcom consider to be tangible.

For the short questions, did everyone do 150 words for each answer evenly.

I am wondering how Ad Com would take it if it is something like 2x100 + 2x200 ? :?

Any ideas?

My word counts were between 130-170 and I was accepted. I would say keep it reasonable at around that range and make sure that every + word you use on one essay you use one less another.

I was told by an Admissions Committee member to "not worry too much about the word limits." I was typically within 10% on each question, but over on all. I was admitted.

First last July/August I asked the Adcom to review my application. They did. They told me that a glaring weekness in my app was that my career goals were unclear. So in this application I made sure that I had very clear goals. My Personal Statement #2 was pretty much realizing this weekness, looking at three different but very similar careers, choosing one, and then seeking out assignments in my current job directly relating to this future position.

Thanks. I also got a feedback but it did not highlight any weakness, which makes it a little difficult.
Below is a snippet of the feedback:
Quote:
...after reviewing your file, there is no particular weakness I can point out. Overall the application you presented was strong, but other candidates simply presented a more compelling overall picture.

I know it is frustrating not to have a specific point of feedback, but in your case, the decision was truly the result a highly competitive applicant pool and limited space.
One thing i took from the above was to tighten any loose ends and make my appl as compelling as it could get.

Any additional suggestions or advice would be helpful. thanks again

BTW - I was dinged R3 (2009 appl season) after interview.

Maybe it was the R3 factor since they did interview you. I was R1 applicant that did not get an interivew invite.

Essays done. All that is left is to hit submit.

Do you think it will look bad to go ahead and mail in my deposit to secure a spot in the class of 2012?

Just kidding.

anyone know what time the R2 applications are due tomorrow? I'm sure I'll find it if I look long enough, but maybe one of you knows offhand?

Thanks!
