I got an email to interview for Round 1 a day before the Decision deadline, and I was wondering if anyone else is in the same situation. I haven't scheduled my interview yet since the school is on winter break.
Just feels weird to be have a late interview invite...nice but weird.
Is an on-campus interview necessary? And if not, does interviewing in your local city (i'm in Beverly Hills) jeopardize your admissions chances?
Thanks guys!
redcarpet received interview invite right before R1 deadline as well.
For interview, no it's not required to do on-campus interview. Call admissions office and let them know of your situation and they will try to arrange an off campus interview in your area. But on campus interview is highly recommended, unless you have a unique problem that prevents you from traveling to campus.

thanks for the heads up! Apparently, on-campus interviews resume on Jan. 13 but interviews can be scheduled earlier (with no class visits, just informal tours).
Here's hoping that an off-site interview does not hurt my chances
I'll be applying to Round 2 and I had a quick question about the first essay. I know it says that each section should be no more than 150 words/600 maximum for the entire essay, but my last 2 sections are about 164 words. This fits in with the +/- 10% word limit rule, but I didn't know if Yale is overly picky about that. Will it be okay to just leave it as is? That's pretty much the shortest I can get it!
I was over the word limit consistently by about 10% on all my essays - and can safely say that Yale along with atleast 2 other schools where I am admitted at, are okay with the 10%.
A central premise of our teaching about leadership at the Yale School of Management is that true leadership - leadership that helps to address a significant problem in a new way - is necessarily personal. It is only when personal passion aligns with meaningful aspirations that individuals are able to inspire others to act in support of an important goal or cause. What are you most passionate about and how have you demonstrated a commitment to this passion?

does anyone have 2008/2009 internship/ft placement statistics broken down by firm? would be interesting to see exactly how many grads YSOM is feeding into the banks with all of this new hype about the school.
I did as well... on Friday. I also received a holiday card from Yale with an image of Harkness Tower, which I thought is a really nice touch. Anyone received scholarship information?
I read those posts. Most of them cite rankings and can be dismissed. But some do bring up relevants points about employment stats. For instance, in 2010, only 9% of the class managed to snag internships in IB and MC - which should truly concern career switchers.
