Applied to Tuck, Haas, and McCombs through the Consortium. I had an interview with Tuck in late December. Not exactly sure how the interview went, couldn't really gauge the interviewer.

Has anyone heard anything from Haas or McCombs? I have acknowledgment from McCombs that they have my application, but has anyone heard anything about interviews from these two schools.

The wait is killing me!

Thanks

Are you R1 or R2 consortium?

Kind of weird you haven't heard anything by now, unless they didn't like you, but my guess would be maybe most schools are starting to take the Yale approach and lumping R1 and R2 consortium apps.

I don't think McCombs requires an additional interview. I could be mistaken. I know Haas requires an additional interview.

The email I received from McCombs says that they will notify me by mid to late January, so I am not as stressed about them as I am about Haas. Did you apply to Haas R1 consortium? Did any out there apply to Haas R1 consortium that has received an interview or any sort of notification.

I am hoping that it isn't the case that they don't like me but I agree it is a possibility and that is why I haven't heard anything.

Thanks

I applied to Haas R1 Consortium. They sent an email to consortium applicants with this info:

We will begin extending Haas interview invitations for Consortium applicants in early January. These interview invitations will be sent on a rolling basis through early March. Please note that Haas interviews are by invitation only. Regardless of application round, all Consortium applicants will be informed of their admission decision in early March.

Looked at the Consortium 2010 forum and it looks like many people didn't get acceptances until end of March..yup, after many others knew of their consortium fellowship/scholarship. I hope the schools do better this year. Long.wait.ahead.

Where did you hear that? If it's true, I'd feel a bit peeved considering I wasn't able to apply to all the schools I wanted to because I simply ran out of time.

I haven't heard anything to that effect, but my sister created an account last weekend, to see what the application entails, and there was nothing to prevent her from submitting it if she chose to. Numbers of all applicants are apparently down this year (COnsortium and Non), so it might make sense that the Consortium try to encourage more applicants by extending the deadline. Sucks for those of us who submitted round 1, and those who submitted on time round 2.

I feel the same way. My Tuck interviewer was very pleasant and welcoming but next to impossible to read. Guess that makes him a good interviewer. I hope that I made a good impression since that’s my top choice.

Well the Consortium website has always stated late apps would be accepted. However, it also states that a late app would reduce chances for a fellowship.

For those who have had a Tuck interview, was it self-initiated or by invitation?

Self initiated. I had already done my consortium interview with another school but I specifically wanted to interview at Tuck to emphasize how much I truly wanted to go there. I hope that wasn't a stupid move on my part.

No, it was not stupid. Tuck values people who self initiate. Granted, your application is only as good as its weakest link, but self initiating is a sure way to show you are really interested in Tuck.

Actually I did hear that the Consortium R2 deadline was extended to Feb 1st. My friend was working on Wharton, Columbia, and NYU apps and wasn't going to do Consortium but then found out that they extended the deadline. I was quite peeved, but hey what you gonna do? Nothing I can do about it
