Hi Everyone, I just got my Consortium Fellowship to Texas - anyone else UT Austin bound?

I should mention that I'm a half-cuban / half-white, female applicant ... and I was not expecting a Consortium fellowship, but I'm pretty excited. Also - anyone gotten any information yet about OP? I want to book my tickets to Minneapolis but I would like some confirmation first.

I think that you have to use the Consortium's own travel booking site if you want to buy plane tickets. I'm not sure if they've given us a link to that yet.

This may be a dumb question, but are they aren't paying for the plane tickets, are they?

They're paying up to $300 for our tickets.

It's detailed in the letter that the Consortium sent out last week to those with membership, whether fellowship or not. I guess you'll be getting yours soon.

Finally UCLA came out with their decisions and I am accepted! It was my top choice, but their online acceptance letter made no mention of any scholarships, which I assume means I got none. :-(

I am also half-Cuban and half white (Russian)!

I don't think most schools put scholarship info in their generic online acceptances. they either tell you via phone or via snail mail. don't lose hope so easily. I found out about my scholarships via snail mail. no full rides but partial is better than zip.

Does anyone remember when the deadline is to accept/decline the fellowship? I don't have the package in front of me. Also - are they at all flexible with that deadline? Even if it's just a couple of days?

I think I remember April 2nd but not 100% on that

Oh ok awesome thanks! Thought it was going to be a mad scramble to get everything together from all my schools by the 2nd but looks like I have much more time than I thought.

I know this is a consort thread but is anyone applying to Toigo? Trying to see if it's worth the time and money. Trying to get more info. Anyone know the percentage of people getting some money? Just curious.

Hello All - If you guys have been admitted to Johnson and received your Ning login - I just posted in the Forum section for a potential Meet Up/Happy Hour in NYC before DJ. Just figured I'd pass that note along. Congrats to everyone.

I also see that there is a note for a potential meet up in Boston as well!

Did all of the Darden folks get their decisions today? I see the Darden thread noted decisions would be released by midnight. I logged into the system and saw a prompt to start my application (i.e. there is no record that I even bothered to apply).

LAGOMEZ- I applied to Toigo. Toigo's fellowship which has been whittled down to $2500 is relatively immaterial to the cost of an MBA. I would encourage you to apply for it if you seriously want to go into finance as Toigo generates results. Through a 3rd party organization, Toigo is trying to create an alumni and support network comparable to having gone to an ivy institution. Having spoken with Toigo fellows, the organization is very good about screening people who support the mission as well as constantly reminding alumni to stay engaged and reminding them that Toigo's success relies on alumni participation. You should think of Toigo as the best tool in your arsenal for procuring a high finance job.
